Worst Day Ever

Reviewed 31 october, 2020

My home was ravaged by hurricane Zeta. My town and myself included are currently left without power. I made a reservation from 30 October until November 7th. I stayed the first night, no issues. The next night, I walked up to my room to notice From the window that there was someone lying in bed watching tv. The hotel had given my room away because I didn’t leave anything in the room. The next hotel I could reserve for the night was 2 hours from my home! They offered to pay for me a room at a hotel nearby. I had no choice but to accept it. That hotel was not of any quality. You can smell marijuana as you walk past the rooms. A lot of people were hanging around in the parking lots too. Directly behind a gas station; just a scary place to be. The furniture was not clean as well. The Mockingbird was not all that clean either. The shower didn’t look as tho it was cleaned and it had hair on the walls. My Uncle died from COVID-19 today. I really just wanted to go to my hotel room and relax after having such a long day. This place completely added to my stress. Did I mention that this hotel was already an our from my home. Stay far away unless you’re into making your day a lot harder than it has to be. I’m so drained!!

Very unkept hotel

Reviewed 15 october, 2019

This hotel in no way should have the high marks on the hotel website. My family and I went to Walmart and bought cleaning supplies...needed to clean every surface and the bathroom. There was dust an inch thick on the carpet. We requested non-smoking rooms...they were not. The people in the room next to ours smoked pot, which we could smell when we entered and exited our rooms. This room and ours were no smoking rooms. The management provided a $10 discount...will never stay here again.

Adequate stay

Reviewed 5 june, 2019

My wife and I stayed on the 6/4/2019 in room 151. This is a king bedded room with microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker and float screen television. This is a wheel chair friendly room with grab bars in the bathroom with a bathtub, and a roll in shower. Very amazed about that. This property offers a pool, breakfast in the morning, and is pet friendly. The check in process was fast and friendly. The only things that I would criticize is that the dead bolt would not lock, the room furniture is a little dated, I thought for me the bed was a little high, and no Kleenex tissue was available. Other wise this is a nice place. Well done....

Clean place to stay

Reviewed 5 may, 2019

The hotel was clean and comfortable and if you are coming to Monroeville, your choice are limited. Our room was clean and newly updated. The continential breakfast was nothing special but it was fine. We found something to eat. Also, note if you are on the second floor there is no elevator or ramp. You schlep your stuff up the steps. No big deal to us but might be to some. The wi-fi was great. However, the only major complaint we had and we let the front desk know at check out was the AC in the room was off and it was HOT. It was 84 degrees outside and 89 degrees in the room. I was not happy. We left and went to dinner and came back about 1 1/2 hours later and it was 78 degrees. I understand you do not need to have it freezing when no one is there but off was insane and unacceptable.

We will never stay there again

Reviewed 4 may, 2019

We were in Monroeville for two nights and were very disappointed. The pool was very dirty, even disgusting. You wouldn’t dare swim in it. The umbrella did not open. The floors and shower curtain were very dirty. One of our rooms had a greasy light switch. The floor was not vacuumed - lots of hair. The internet connection was spotty at best. The breakfast was poor quality. All in all, we did not have a very good experience there.
