We are motel types but this place is so quaint and being so lovingly renovated that we prefer to stay here when in Monte Vista. Everything works, even the antiques elevator! And they now offer a great breakfast. Really, try it, you'll like it.

Yes, the rooms are small and the building is old and a little confusing, but it’s a really cool historic (like on the National Register) building with great views of Main Street. Contrary to what I read in some other reviews, the staff/owners were absolutely lovely and it clearly mattered to them that we enjoyed our stay and were happy with the service. I am very picky about cleanliness and I can say my room was absolutely spotless. It’s not the most luxurious hotel around, but overall I thought it was a great value for the price we paid.

My partner and I were enticed by the good reviews and the chance to support a local business on our trip. We checked in and dropped off our luggage, turned on the floor AC unit and went to grab a drink while the room cooled down. When we came back about 2 hours later, the room was still too hot to sleep. When we contacted the owners, they told us the AC was working… which was technically true, the unit was on, but it wasn’t cooling down the room. Knowing we wouldn’t be able to sleep, we asked for a room change or a refund. The owner refused and then started texting us with accusations and personal attacks. I now see they go after everyone who leaves a negative review, you can read them yourself here on Google. We would have happily stayed here if we had been able, and were disappointed that the owners didn’t try anything to help us be more comfortable, and became upset by their accusations. It was just bizarre. We ended up moving to a different hotel in the middle of the night. For a pleasant experience, look elsewhere.

Stayed here on a road trip with my son. The hotel is a cool old building that has a lot of character and charm. It was a very good price compared to other hotels in town. They give you a bag of goodies when you arrive for breakfast the next morning. Well worth the price

I wish I could have rated higher, however the room was not worth the cost. The host who checked me in was extremely nice and I could tell they were trying to renovate the rooms, however, there were stains in the comforter and the room across was very loud and kept me up for a majority of the night. Rooms were not sound proof. I wish the rate was lower, then I would recommend staying here.
