Enjoyable, we stayed twice, small tweaks to be 5 star
Visited twice on our trip to Tuscany both for 3 nights. COVID procedures - wear masks indoors all times (apart from your room), you don't need to wear when sunbathing, keep distance where possible, enhanced cleaning, the place felt spotless. Breakfast is an ok selection, I did have to chase for a coffee in the morning and used tables were not cleared very quickly. Breakfast was served to you so you didn't have to share touching of utensils etc. Our first room was modern and had a small balcony (with only one seat) and faced the pool. Our second room felt more modern (USB ports etc) but the bathroom felt dated. The air con was nowhere near as strong in this room and as it faced the front of the hotel the sun beamed in early evening making it very uncomfortable (it was 37 degrees outside). There was a beautiful view of the Tuscan hills however no seats on this balcony at all. We used the hotel gym which was small but efficient. Again, we felt the air con was not very strong in here. The staff were friendly in general however my feedback would be for them to be as attentive to non-italian speaking guests as they were with italian speaking guests.
Very nice hotel for some chill time in Italy during covid
Hotel was really lovely, relatively quiet so we had no problem getting a bed by the pool, might not be quite so easy if the hotel was full. We were upgraded to a Junior suite which was amazing. Montecatini-Terme is Definately a place worth visiting and very easy to get to in the train.
Nice, elegant, modern hotel
Very central, modern hotel in Montecatini Terme. Everything is walking distance. Rooms are OK, not refurbished to high standards but decent, clean and good priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. Beautiful SPA. Nice relaxing lobby, and weather permitting, nice outside area in the front of the hotel and by the pool for outside dining.
Quality hotel
We chose this hotel for our 8 days spa Trip because group stays here for the Tuscany tours. This hotel is located next to a beautiful park and it is only 6 minutes walk to the center. Easy parking. The bed is good, pool is very inviting, breakfast is great. I would be happy to come back to this hotel again if ever I visit Tuscany sometimes in the future
A tale of two halves
The hotel is in a good location, about 10 mins walk from the train station and close to lots of nice restaurants & bars. The hotels (and maybe the area as a whole?) seems to be more a base for coach trips and cycle tours etc. Not many guests seem to be there long term. This hotel is very much a tale of two halves. The side where reception is modern and stylish - this area includes the pool and restaurant. The pool area was quite quiet while we were there and no problem getting a bed. However the other part of the hotel (where we stayed in a ‘classic room’) is extremely dated. The rooms (plus corridors, stairs & lifts), I assume were very modern in the 80’s but have not updated since. There was even a phone next to the bidet and padded doors! There was also no shower curtain over the bath so water went everywhere and the jacuzzi didn’t work. I have just seen on a previous review the rooms will be updated- however confirm before booking and if they are not, save your money and book elsewhere if you are going for a cheaper room (especially if you don’t plan to use the pool area!). The breakfast was ok, a good selection but I had pancakes a few days. Sometimes they were fresh, one day they must have been from the previous day as they were cold & dry! The pool bar was very expensive for drinks (compared to nearby restaurants/bar), didn’t try any food.
