The best hotel I’ve ever been too. I can honestly say this was the best service I ever received. I would highly recommend the Riu to anyone. The staff is what makes this place. I’ve been to Jamaica 3 times and nothing like the staff here. They make you feel welcome, happy and like family, Thank you to Melvin, Frass box (the best DJ) , Kenzie, Jerome, Sheldon, Bennet & Rollie Pollie for making my vacation a great one. I will definitely be back hoping to see you all again. The waiters Alrick and Lance at the buffet were also very friendly and helpful. Thank you to Miguel and Tyrone the taxi drivers at the hotel for taking me around Jamaica and making sure me and best friend were safe.

For this to show as a 5- star hotel, is absolutely misleading. I’m currently staying here for a week and it’s only our 2nd full day here. On arrival, we get to our room that contained a king sized bed, only to see that it had 3 small pillows. Turned on the TV to be greeted with everything in Spanish. I called to request 3 more pillows and to also have the engineer come up to change the language on the tv. These simple requests took over an HOUR to be fulfilled. But not only that, when the Engineers finally came, they said that the language doesn’t change on the tv…why couldn’t the front desk tell us this in the first place??? Then when the housekeeper finally came with ONE pillow she the told us that they only allow one extra pillow. How is that possible?? I had to plead to the housekeeper for another pillow?? For what?? Ultimately, we received 2 extra pillows instead of the 3 and it took way longer than it should’ve. That same evening, after getting settled, I went to customer service to request a cake to be sent to our room as a surprise for my husband’s birthday. The lady asked me what time, and I told her 12 noon the next day (Actual birthday) She wrote this information on her hand and reassured me that it will be in the room at that time. Next day came and it was NOT there at all. I called the front desk at around 3pm and was told that they were going to talk to the pastry chef and send one up. After hours, still nothing. We went to dinner that night and I told the server of my situation. He then communicated this to the host who then comes to the table -where my husband and I are sitting- and announced, there is no cake in the back fridge for him and they’ll make sure it’s in the room by the end of the night. RUINED THE WHOLE DAMN SURPRISE! Not to mention the front desk initially telling me that they will talk to the pastry chef..did this even happen?? Now today is just the second day. After coming back to our room from the beach, the room was made up by housekeeping but there was no wash rags, hand towels, or a bath mat in sight. We called down to the front desk 3 times within an hour for these items so that we can finally take a shower. Since there was no sign of any progress, I went to find the nearest housekeeper in the villa and all she was able to give me 2 wash rags and a bath mat. It’s now 9:45 pm and still our initial requests for the needed towels, HAVE NOT BEEN FULFILLED. For dinner we attempted to go to the Italian test for lunch. We went at around 8:10 then swiftly turned away as soon as we reached the line because they were now closed. HOW IS IT CLOSED WHEN ITS CLEARLY STATES THAT THE RESTAURANT CLOSES AT 9PM???? Needless to say that this experience has been the absolute worst and it’s only my second day at this resort. I wish I could say that I hope our stay will get better, however not ONE inch of me believes it.

My husband and I had an excellent experience , my only regret is that I won't be able to bring my children there. 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂 the food was delectable, I loved the view of the property and the staff members are very friendly.

Everything was perfect , the service is amazing especially the buffet staff,nice entertainment, bars are good and housekeeping were very freindly only the beach was not great for swimming with lots of sea weeds.

I went on a girls trip with 8 other. I was the only pregnant one. My stay was ok for me to be pregnant, but others complained. Staff was very nice (especially the men) check in was about an hour wait. I stayed in a room that was by a lot of trees (building 2) . My room was moist the entire stay, my bed felt damp. I didn’t like that. The food was mediocre, needed seasoning. I ate jerk/ stewed food for breakfast lunch and dinner. The Asian place was the worse. I can’t speak of the drinks, but the other complained they were watered down and sugary. We took the free shuttle across the street to the gift shop. I think they work together some way. It was creepy there are a lot of dudes hanging out walking selling stuff. The shops call the shuttles back to get you. Overall I think you’ll get more done faster if you come out of pocket and pay the staff.
