An extremely interesting property with massive rooms. Don't expect modern day hotel facilities this is an historic house buy room and beds were very comfortable.
The owner greeted us on arrival and was most helpful. Breakfast was served with great care due to Covid restrictions and clearly the owner had prepared well for this.
Wonderful hosts and food

We visited in May 2016 with our two small daughters when in the area for a wedding.
We couldn't have hoped for more caring hosts, Edith and Georges did everything they ciuld to make sure we were relaxed and comfortable, right down to digging out a potty for our toddler and a baby seat for the little one so we could eat in peace.
The breakfast was superb - some of the best cheeses I and my (French!) husband have ever had, fabulous homemade bread and jams, delicious local grape juices and good coffee.
We treated ourselves to Edith's special dinner of local delicacies and it was well worth it, highly recommended.
The house is in a lovely spot with a nice garden full of the sounds of nature, and the dogs, cats, donkey, goat, chickens and ducks are very friendly and kept our daughter very happy.
The bed was excellent, really supportive and comfortable and I've never stayed anywhere so spacious we had acres of room and a huge bath. Interesting decor, lots of reading material too, you couldn't be bored here!
we stayed just 3 nights but I would have happily stayed for many more!

We had a great time staying at this place. The owner was so accommodating, friendly and take note, she's the one preparing the breakfast with fresh breads, marmalade and fruits. She offered us her own personal Armagnac. I will definitely come back here.

Quirky and delightful. Welcome flask of coffee and homemade cake left by madame as she was out when we arrived Super comfortable room and bed. Excellent supper cooked by hostess and eaten all together, local produce, freshly cooked and with local wine. Breakfast homemade bread and jams, yoghourt and local artisanal cheese. We felt completely relaxed and look forward to returning and exploring the local area.
Country House B&B

Traditional French accommodation in a large Bastide in it's own grounds. Remote location with no immediate restaurants nearby, but the hospitable owners will provide a fully inclusive table d'hote meal, inclusive of drinks, at 29 euros. This is taken around a large table with other guests and is a good opportunity to improve one's french.
It was late season, during our visit, so the grounds and pool were in need of tidying..
It is important to ignore the postal address as Montegut since the property is on the D149 so do not turn off at the signpost. Best to use the map reference to find it.
