The motel was worth for us. We used only for sleep, and spent the day out. The subway station is basically inside the motel, and there are plenty options of restaurants and markets around. You get what you pay for.

Old, clean, convenient.

I just needed a place, with parking, as a base to explore the greater Montreal area. I booked because the price was right, the parking was free and convenient and the location met my needs. The first thing I found objectional was the stink of cigarette smoke as I entered the reception area. The motel is old and in need of renovations. On the plus side, the staff was excellent, the parking (free) was plentiful and convenient. The room was old but very clean. I found the motel very quiet, the other travellers friendly and overall, for the price, it was just what I was looking for. The free Wi-Fi was there but extremely slow.
Where do I start? I changed rooms 4 times. Windows didn't lock and wifi did not work = my problem!

Wow!! The receptionist tried her best to accommodate but the windows in 2 rooms did not lock, one other room did not have WIFI and the last one was mediocre. I understand that you get what you pay for but please don't advertise WIFI or a safe locked room if you can't deliver. I was there and needed to work throughout the day. No WIFI meant I couldn't work.
When I asked the receptionist about a refund she said that she couldn't do that and it would require the manager. She also said that he did not want to be disturbed on the weekend therefore she was not allowed to contact him. She basically said he would fire her if she contacted him. What hotel does not have a manager on duty at any time?
I decided to stay a night as she kept saying that the policy through expedia is that I would still need to pay for 50% of the stay. If I stayed a night at least I would't lose as much. I thought after being displaced 3 times and still not be able to work due to the terrible WIFI and staying a night that the manager who was unavailable on the weekend would see that the customer made an effort to stay at their establishment but ultimately was not able to take advantage of the services he paid for.
Monday morning I went to see him as soon as he arrived and he very quickly shot down anything I had to say and re-iterated that the policy is 50% regardless. Didn't listen to any of what I had to say and obviously did not care at all. No empathy whatsoever. He could learn from his staff who apologized and did they best to accommodate. This was a terrible place with a terrible manager who does not even take a second to listen to the customer's concern. Travel sites should hold places like this accountable by revoking their rights to post on their sites.
I contacted Expedia to explain the situation and they provided a credit equivalent to the money lost. Thank you Expedia!!
Sketchy place, not even worth a Hotwire deal

Booked this room for 3 people, well in advance, so you would expect them to be prepared, right? Well unfortunately, that was not the case. The room was set up for 2 people, with not enough soap, not enough towels etc. Shall I mention the Wifi? Not worth it because it barely worked to begin with, was slow when it did, and would go in and out repeatedly without any warning. We all found it a little strange that when we checked in, the receptionist had to hand write the Wifi password on a piece of paper and also handed us the TV remote upon check in. I would not recommend this motel unless you are in an emergency circumstance. I may add however that the motel office is a good 200 or so meters away and not visible from the rear portion of this building. To put the icing on the cake, the atmosphere is very less than satisfactory and did not make us feel safe, even with the police next door...
However, two blocks away is the Metro(subway) station, so there's that.

I've traveled quite a bit, and I can honestly say that I've had better accommodations in third world countries and cheap hostels. This hotel was dirty, even though we were told "No smoking means no smoking" every room we tried just reeked of smoke. We had to try several rooms because each one we tried was progressively worse - and because we didn't cancel 24 hours prior, they would not refund any portion of the money. Believe me, we tried to leave and go elsewhere, but we had unfortunately booked for 3 nights and didn't want to lose that much money. There were cigarette burns on the furniture and on the bedding. There were stains on the box spring / bed skirt (blood? feces?..) Luckily, we did have blankets in the car we could sleep on instead of the bed sheets. There's free wifi - but don't let that fool you, it took me a good 10 minutes to login to my email. If you do HAVE to stay here - here's the best tip you'll get - just across the street, there's a dollarama - we spent <$20 and got ourselves pillow cases, air fresheners, flip flops, hand sanitizer etc, those were the only things that saved us from sleeping in the car.
