Horrible customer service
My car keys did not work to my room and the front desk employee was not at the desk when I went downstairs which was 2 AM. He was upstairs in a room sleeping instead of being at the front desk where he was a assigned to. He did not come down to the front desk till 5:30 AM. I as a payin guess had to sit in the lobby from 2:50 AM till 5:30 AM not being able to get into my room due to him being asleep upstairs in a room. He took no responsibility for his actions or lack there of for being where he was supposed to be nor did he take any responsibility for not carrying with him the cell phone which the hotel supplies for them should they leave the front desk. He blamed it on some other supposed employee which I know was a lie and this made it even worse I would never ever use this hotel again and will tell all of my friends who traveled with me to Pittsburgh not to use this hotel again as well for they know of my experience including the president of our organization who set up this group to use this particular hotel.
Not the deal they advertise themselves as
We booked this hotel specifically because of positive past experiences. They advertise as having an indoor pool and free breakfast, both of which are currently closed. We were not made aware of the closures until we inquired about the pool at the hotel and saw the breakfast section taped off. For $70 a night we could have booked somewhere else that had these amenities available. The rooms were nothing special & the shower leaked/dropped constantly. But the showers were hot, so that was a nice plus.
poor upkeep
Hot breakfast was limited to one choice. Food was not very well stocked and limited options. Cable went out every night. Fitness center was closed for two months for "maintenance." Indoor pool was drained with not date given as to availability. Every surface in the room was stained. Heating and air was growing mold. Towels were in inadquate supply. Bedding was flimsy. Only one vending and ice machine in the hotel. Only exit and entrance was through the lobby. Front desk would not address problems of guests smoking weed and the smoke was entering all rooms on the floor.
Nice warm and friendly staff
