Beautiful hotel and great location

Reviewed 22 march, 2022

We loved our stay at Hotel de la Soledad. Every room is unique and beautifully decorated. It's just a block to the main square and within easy walking distance of all the main tourist sites. The courtyard with fountain brings calm to a busy day. Highly recommend staying here!

A Beautiful Magical Hotel

Reviewed 2 march, 2022

We love to stay at this hotel because the building is beautiful and the decorations are very elegant and tasteful. The food and drinks at the restaurant are delicious and good prices. We specially love the suites because each one is unique and different. We love the high ceilings and our favorite suites are the ones with a hot tub. Great location to walk around downtown Morelia and hear the Cathedral bells. There's an Oxxo and a Sanborns store right around the corner. It's one our favorite hotels in the world. The only thing missing this time was our concierge Graciela Peña. She used to make our stays so much better. She was so welcoming and full filled our requests with impeccable costumer service. She always went that extra mile that is expected at a hotel like this. The rest of the staff still give a good service but nothing out of the ordinary as we were used to with Graciela. We were celebrating our anniversary and I tried to contact someone a couple of months in advance to plan our stay and book dinner but no one was ever able to help me. The front desk told me to contact Reservations which I did but he never replied to my emails or phone calls. So on our anniversary night we were not able to get our favorite table for dinner because they had a big group to which they gave priority. We still enjoyed our stay but not as much as when Graciela was there, she used to make us feel at home are really well taken care of. Hopefully then can hire a good concierge again soon. We'll still be back.

Exquisite hotel, impeccable service

Reviewed 21 february, 2022

When searching for a hotel in Morelia, we went online and searched Conde Nast magazine for “the best luxury hotel” in the city. We most definitely found it. Set just a short half block away from the Cathedral San Salvador, this hotel ( a “Small Luxury Hotel of the World”) is exquisitely appointed and beautifully decorated with beautiful embroidered handicrafts, artfully placed. Request a room on the second floor as seating areas there are so lovely overlooking the open air courtyard below. The restaurant is five star both in service and quality of food, featuring regional cuisine. Avoid at all costs rooms 406 and 407. We were assigned 407– which is very quiet and has a comfortable bed— but the bed is far too big for the space and the room is so small there is not even room for a chair, never mind an open suitcase. We had a most beautiful sitting area just outside the room so this made up for the cramped quarters to some extent. The most disturbing aspect of our stay was understanding how badly paid the servers and housekeepers are.For all intents and purposes the servers rely fully on their tips for a living wage, while management can afford to travel to Europe on holiday. This may be the norm in Mexico but to experience this so directly was troubling to say the least.

Beautiful, comfortable, and great location

Reviewed 28 january, 2022

Beautiful and centrally located. The King Suite was exquisite and spacious. Great location but not really a view from the "balcony." Staff was a bit cold. Photos online showed a fire place in the room but it was non functioning, I was told it was only for the photo.
