More about the hotel
Pretty good except the beds were completely worn out!
Our 4th or 5th stay at this hotel. Location is handy to airport for both arriving and departing. The place seems to be continually under construction and is in good shape, even since we were last there. Though we have seen it in better condition and certainly the beds were exhausted – they were sagging out and had very little give to them (see the photos). Nice touch is the fridge and kettle. Good sized room, with table and 2 chairs. Bathroom is modern and well appointed. Breakfast is included but our flight was at 1000 and so we didn’t have chance to have breakfast before we left. This is a reasonable standby, but doubtful we will return given the beds.
Away from the huge congestion and urbanisation
I drove here and parking was free so it was a good value proposition. Not 5 star but adequate for one night. About 15 to 20 minutes drive so a bit far for a taxi from the airport IMO. Breakfeast was extra cost but ok value
Bare Minimum
Stayed here one night on a layover from Frankfurt Airport. This hotel is advertised as 3 km from the airport however, getting here from the airport by car is actually more than 12 km. We needed to use GPS and voice activated directions in order to find this hotel. This hotel is located in a rather residential/business area with a lot of construction going on around. It is housed amid a lot of concrete buildings with little green space. The view from the room was not aesthetic. Check in was quick and efficient however, attendant was rather cold and unaccommodating. I had requested previous to my arrival for a room on a higher floor away from heavy traffic areas and the elevator. I was given a room in a heavy traffic area not far from the elevator. I understand rooms are granted based on availability, however, the hotel did not appear to be so busy. I just felt the attendant dismissed my request without any explanation as to why it wasn't possible to accommodate. Room was functional but on the smaller side compared to North American standards. The bed was very soft. Our window did not close and we were right over the entrance to the hotel so we heard people coming and going late into the night. Walls are thin so easy to hear any noise in the hallways and between walls. Lighting in room was very dim. The room shows signs of wear and tear. It was a functional hotel and room ok for an overnight stay but nothing more. We went into Frankfurt for dinner as there wasn't much, if anything around the hotel itself to see or do or eat and it was a Sunday evening.
A good hotel that has the potential to be a great hotel
This is a pretty big hotel; bigger than I had expected reading the TA description. It's located in a residential area with quite a bit of construction going on. As I said in the title, Global has the potential to be a great hotel, but isn't there. The positives: -There's something going on this week in Frankfurt, as the hotel prices are up this week across the board. So, at 109 Euro plus 10 for breakfast, Global was a good deal. -Add to that, FREE PARKING. Did I say FREE PARKING? Yes, I did say FREE PARKING. -Breakfast had an extensive variety of sausages, veggies, fruits, cheeses, scrambled and sunny side up eggs, yogurts, cereals, ciabata rolls, all kinds of things. Well worth the 10 euro. -Strong, stable WiFi signal -Spacious room with functional furnishings. -Nice ambient lighting -Minibar refrigerator -Nice bath with big enough (not large) shower -Just 15 minutes from the airport rental car return. What could be better to make it great: -Check-in. There's an electric bell on the front desk that asks guests to ring it and someone will be out "shortly". I rang once. 5 minutes later, rang again. A few minutes later, another person came and rang. Still no clerk. Finally came and check-in was ok. -Bedding is very soft; I woke up with a little back ache. -Nicely decorated room, but the one panel drapery was not large enough to cover the window. So, whatever the light outside is the light inside. OK when dawn is 7 a.m. as it is now, unless you rolled in at 2 a.m. or so and want to sleep a little longer. -Shower has two heads, one strong and the other rain. I couldn't figure out how to switch from one to the other. -Lighting is dim. -While there is a minibar refrigerator, there's no minibar. -There is a hot water heater in the room, but no coffee or tea service. -Composite desk area is starting to show the wear that a composite desk area would. So, that about sums it up. I'd stay again for a layover.
Works for a night
We spent one night at this hotel, the rooms are big and the bathrooms are really nice and new. The lights inside the room and bath are not very bright, i like it brighter. The breakfast was ok, kind of Turkish style.
