I liked it
Don't listen to those bad reviews, we stayed there for two nights and it was fine. Very clean and saw most people wearing masks. Breakfast was great with hot waffles, hard boiled eggs, muffins, bagel, oatmeal, fruit, and cereal. Gave us an early checkin and a big cozy bed.
BEWARE
This place is a dump. Overpriced for what you get. First of all there is junk EVERYWHERE! She says antiques but it pure JUNK! This place is NOT clean! NOT CEAN! My room was filthy and there was a small bottle on the nightstand that said sanitizer!?!?! No air conditioning! Dated property! Very very dated! Needs so many things fixed. It needs to be painted! It’s just a junkyard and you get to sleep amongst this! It’s really GROSS! I definitely do not recommend this establishment. Poor customer service, filthy, filthy rooms. During a pandemic you would think she would hire someone to clean the place. There were spider webs and dust EVERYWHERE! I left early! Place is truly disgusting! Check out the filthy fan in the room. I turned it on and a huge spider web fell on my leg. Bed sheets were not clean!
Might as well stay at a cheaper hotel, and here is why - No breakfast
Being a business traveler, I stay in business hotels for the amenities, not the room. Most hotel rooms at this level are similar once you go in and shut the door. I stay in hotels at this level because they have the gym, the pool, and breakfast. Breakfast is important, because I need to get up, get on the road and do my business. This hotel has chosen to provide the most pitiful breakfast of any hotels I stay in at this level. They have had the same tiny little muffin, apple and water in a paper bag for the past 3 months. Other hotels have ramped up their offerings of grab and go items like yogurt, better muffins, snack bars, cereal and milk, juice, smoothies, etc. More of a continental breakfast, and you can make a pretty decent meal out it. Here, you get a muffin and a bottle of water. Homewood suites are now serving hot breakfast again, having the cooks serve the food. Limited items but even better. Homewood suites is also offering their evening social again, with beer, wine and snacks. Don’t expect that here. I’m a Hilton Gold member and had to ask for a snack bar when I checked in. Then the girl at the desk warns me that I can’t have Swedish fish also, because I am only allowed one snack at check-in. Pffffff. As for the rest of the hotel, they are running on very low revenue and it shows. There are so many empty hotel rooms right now, I can save $40 a night staying somewhere else and just carry breakfast items around in my trunk, I guess. A 10 minute shopping spree at Sam’s club, and I can live like a vagabond, packing my stuff with me. Last time I will stay at this hotel. Too many options right now and hotels that ramp it up with get my business.
