No mask compliance by staff--avoid!
Arguably one of the worst hotels I've seen for COVID safety. Some guests wear masks, some don't. But the problem is that the front desk didn't seem to care one bit about face coverings. This, despite the fact that the new Illinois state executive order requires staff to at least talk to people or offer them masks, if they don't have one. The staff just lets people waltz around unmasked, regardless of the threat that poses to public health. In a word: avoid.
Traumatic experience and zero mask compliance
We stayed in this hotel for about one hour before leaving and checking into a much safer and equally pet friendly hotel across the street. The vast majority of people in the lobby were not wearing masks. When one came next to me as I was choosing snacks I asked the receptionist, Sam, if she would tell him to please put on a mask. She refused and said she wants me to leave for being “disrespectful.” I pointed out that I’m merely asking for her to uphold the mask policy posted in the lobby. She became very aggressive at this point and said she wants me to leave the hotel and said she is calling the police. I asked to speak to her manager and she said no one was available. I’m not sure what to make of all of this. I am glad this happened in a way as the positivity rate in that building is probably worrisome given the lack of compliance and we are trying to stay healthy. My advice is that you stay away if you also want to avoid Covid
Good Rep of Comfort Suites Brand
We reserved a double queen room with a sofa sleeper. Overall, the room was clean & comfy. Hotel was actually fairly busy for a weeknight. It is right off the interstate. We got in late, so weren't here for long. Biggest complaint with this hotel is that the mask mandate for IL was not followed. Tried to stay away from others. The breakfast was ok for covid. They did have some better options than some hotels. Unfortunately, 3 young men have big appetites and would consume most of what was restocked. Overall, I would stay here again when passing through.
Very nice and included breakfast
Only hotel we stayed at that provided normal breakfast. Impressive. Nice, clean rooms. Great location, convenient to restaurants and interstate. Front desk lady was very busy checking people in and answering calls.
Convenient location
Stopped on our way to FL. Great easy on off location to the interstate. Refrigerator and microwave in room to store food we were traveling with and make dinner. Front desk very helpful to store additional ice packs.
