Good for families
We enjoyed the space, large swimming pool and the restaurant very much. They have rooms with connected doors. Our room was without airco but the mosquito net and a cool breeze at night let us sleep very well. Rooms are a bit dated but clean and comfy. Would definitely recommend it to families with kids who enjoy the hilly countryside.
Average stay, nudist sauna,expensive food
First of all the parking is paid - 6 EUR per day. It seems strange to pay for a parking in a closed complex, which i am client of. We spent two nights in the hotel in room number 234. It was cold in the room in the night of our arrival.The room wasn't something special. There is no coffee/ thee facility or mini bar. Somehow in 4-stars hotel you expect to have it. Bed was not comfortable, because it is not double, it is just two single beds which are together. Bathroom was also simple. We found one bottle of hand soap and one with shampoo which was empty.... So classy. We decided to visit the swimming pool and saunas. Of course if you dont have slippers and bathrobe you can rent it from the reception. This was + 10 euro per person. But let's continue .... The water in the pool was really really cold. When we realized it, we decided to visit the saunas which were upstairs. And till now if you think that entering the swimming pools was a mistake, the decision to visit the saunas was a really huge mistake.When we entered, we saw that all people are naked. May be it is not a problem if we knew we are going to a nudist sauna. Unfortunatelly, neither on booking.com nor on the hotel website was mentioned at this point that the sauna was "nudist friendly". What if we brought our kids there... We tried the restaurant. Everything was amazing. The staff was very friendly and professional. We had to pay 160 euro for two dinners, but at least this worth the money. The last day of our stay, we were supposed to check out till 12 AM. The issue is that the housekeeping started knocking on our door about 10 AM. We said out loud "Busy" and put a label "Do not Disturb" on the door. Half an hour later the housekeepng knocked on the door again, disregarding the DND label on the door, the 12 AM check- out policy of the hotel, and the fact that we told them half an hour ago that the room is still occupied.
nice hotel
I was there on a business trip with my collegaues. The hotel is nice, staff is polite, food is good, coffee is also good. It could be good to sit outside on the therace, eat your dinner and watching the hill.
Excellent service
I was reluctant to book this hotel, based on a rather bad review I had read here where the service was said to be really bad. I was very pleasantly surprised however, to find that this couldn't have been further from our experience in the two weeks we were there last week. I went with my son for a two-night get away and wellness trip and there is nothing I can fault this hotel on. the minute we arrived, we were greeted and helped by the reception staff, who bent over backwards to try and get us a couple of massages sorted out, in spite of the lack of warning. They succeeded and we were able to both have massages - also of excellent quality - the lady was lovely!!! We elected for "halb pension" and the buffet was delicious. worthy of note was a really nice waitress who went out of her way to find us a nice table outside, out of the sun. The barkeep in the bar mixed us some excellent cocktails and was very friendly, solicitous, and chatty. The room was clean and comfortable and I loved the little birds on the wallpaper. This is a lovely, quiet and well run wellness hotel, with beautiful views and warm and friendly staff. I highly recommend it!!!!!
A delightful pleasant stay in beautiful countryside surroundings
Had a wonderful weekend with friends in much. Very relaxing and welcoming staff at the hotel. Great wellness & good sporting facilities. Lovely bedrooms with very comfortable big beds. Ideal for long walks in a country atmosphere. Cologne city close by and some nice caves and castles to visit too. Enjoyed a lovely Sunday brunch too. Thank you to the team at TWH kranichhoehe
