Enjoyable stay in REAL Spain.
Really enjoyed our stay here at this hotel. Typically Spanish which we enjoyed very much. Good sized room with twin beds and a good sized bathroom and a shower which was effective. Breakfast was typical continental wiith freshly squeezed orange juice and super coffee. Friendly and helpful staff. Location is pretty much spot on for the walk to the beach or in the other direction to the Camper Park which has a bar and restaurant open to all and super value. The only minor downers, were: 1) No tea/coffee making facilities in room, 2) No English speaking channels on TV (just for news if nothing else!) 3) The hotel is situated next to a large fuel station on a roundabout - however this didn't cause us any concerns. All in all, very good value for our stay.
Lovely hotel
Stayed at the mar menor hotel for 2 nights.lovely, very spacious room, clean.comfortable bed.breakfast was toast, jam, fresh orange juice, cup of tea, pastries if wanted.cant fault anything about it,would stay again.
Not a great 3 star hotel
We booked this hotel for one night as we were attending the San Javier Jazz Festival. It was a last minute booking and we were not looking for anything fancy! The hotel is easy to find as it is on a main road and we found parking right outside although there is no parking dedicated to the hotel. Entry is by a door next to a cafeteria, which doubles as the hotel restaurant. The lady at the reception was very pleasant and we managed to check in very quickly. The reception is an open atrium which is light but a bit stuffy in the summer heat. However, there was a terrible smell of drains in the area and this remained for the period we stayed. There is no lift. Our room was a family size room. It had a colour tv and double sliding doors to access a small balcony. The double sliding doors reduced traffic noise considerably. There was a fridge which was good for cooling water/drinks etc. No tea/coffee making facilities however. The large bed was a real problem. The springs were so squeaky that even the slightest movement made a considerable noise. The mattress was very poor condition and you rolled into the centre. The result was a restless/sleepless night. The bathroom facilities were very poor. There were 4 small sachets of shampoo left for us. No soap at all even a small bar for the washbasin. It was just as well we packed shower gel. The shower was practically useless and it was like having a shower under a tap as opposed to a shower. Not sure if this was the pressure or the shower head or a mixture of both! The towels were clean enough but it felt like you were drying yourself with sandpaper they were so rough. The following morning we went to the cafeteria for our breakfast which consisted of one glass of orange juice, one coffee and a toasted roll with some jam, each!! I would not recommend this hotel and it is a very poor 3 star. Had it not been for the staff it would be no stars!!
Excellent Accommodation
Stayed here with family for a 5th time. Never lets me down. Good cheap hotel with traditional spanish breakfast. Owner as always helpful and accommodating. So cheap and 5 mins walk to the perfect beaches of Santiago. Cant fault hotel.
close to MJV
really nice stay / basic breakfast / good enough for loads of locals in cafe - located on main road by garage but no noise to disturb sleep in room. only downside was rooftop could be a great sun terrace if cleaned up and furnished but I guess it only a stroll to beach.
