Clean room and nice breakfast. Beds, not so much. AC/Heating unit has a mind of its own. Carpets are old and probably needs replacing. Nice added touch with Dove products in the bath. Not a bad place for a night.

Slimy, horrible service from "Manager"

Our flight was cancelled as soon as we got to the airport due to short staff. This was right at the height of Omicron and national news about flights being cancelled on this day. The "Manager" Nicole Jackson was just horrible, 0% compassion and 0% etiquette when I asked to not be charged. We were in no way prepared that day to make the 9 hour drive that night in lieu of our flight. She did not listen and refused to give me the Owners phone number but did go ahead and provide me a bogus name for him. They tried to charge my card for the night even though the circumstance was out of our control. This type of service would never be tolerated at a quality hotel, more along the lines of the dirtiest gas station at 3 am.. Going now through BBB. You will not take my money!

Needed an overnight room for a business deal. Reserved and paid for the room thru Expedia. When I got to the hotel I was charged an extra $18.14 for incidentals. Incase we made a phone call. We were suppose to get it back. Never did. Hate hidden fees!!!! Oh yeah, had two bath matts and only one towel. Had to go to the desk to rectify. And the carpet turned my white socks black. So much for shampooing the carpet.

The hotel is small but clean. Breakfast is included. It is a bit difficult to find since its located atop a mountain. The view is beautiful. Service was friendly. Covid guidelines and social distancing were observed.

Last Minute We Need a Break Trip!

My husband and I are in the midst of cleaning my dad's house preparing for an Estate Sale and then selling the house. After days of working non stop, we decided we needed a break, so at 5:00 pm on a Friday night, we decided to head to Murphy NC for an overnight stay. My first thought was to stay at the Casino hotel. Apparently the beds there are made of gold as they wanted $499 a night. Not happening. So I did a quick internet search and found the Holiday Inn Express. We arrived around 6:30 and were quickly checked in. We had a King room that was very large on the 2nd floor. We dropped our stuff and headed to the Casino. We got back to the hotel around 10:30 ish and discovered that our TV didn't work. My husband made a call to the front desk and they gave him some troubleshooting tips, but that didn't work. After a 2nd call to the desk, Jeffery came up to our room and took a look at the TV. Within minutes he was able to diagnose the problem and got the TV to work! Kudos to Jeffery! The next morning, we went down to see what the breakfast situation was. With Covid, I really expected a banana and a muffin to go, but surprisingly, they had a full breakfast offering. The young lady in charge was very efficient and friendly and put our orders in to-go containers for us to take back to our rooms to eat. It was a pleasant surprise. Although it's not the closest hotel to the Casino, but it did look much newer than some of the others we passed, I would certainly recommend this hotel. It's clean, the staff is friendly and accomodating, parking is free.......all things that add up to a good stay!
