If you are looking to use amenities, call ahead to make sure that they are working or available. Also, check in at 3:00 pm means just that. Otherwise, pay early check-inn fee. Doesn't matter if there was a blizzard coming or not.
Affordable Gem
Let me start by saying that when it comes to a hotel I am a very critical guest. I know My standards of cleanliness and comfort are extreme. My husband and I travel to the area frequently... This hotel has become our go-to when in Muscatine. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping does a great job as the rooms are always clean. Additionally, the rooms are comfortable and well maintained. Common areas (including the pool and hot tub) are inviting and enjoyable. The addition of toasted bread items and a meat choice would make breakfast better, however, there is always a good variety of other choices. Overall I would recommend a stay here to anyone!
VERY Pleased!
We were pleased with every aspect of our stay. I am a Wyndham Diamond member and they honored the rewards program and provided an upgrade to a suite. I would highly recommend this room even if you pay a little more, it is worth it. The room was spacious, the jacuzzi tub was large and everytjing worked properly. The property and our room was impecably clean. The front desk clerk on check-in - Brenda, was very pleasant and efficient. We had requested a roll away for my son and she had it in the room upon our arrival and it was all made up. The breakfast was adequate - ceareal, yogurt, pre-wrapped pastries, coffee, tea, milk, juice, granola bars. Because of COVID it is nice to just have a decent breakfast so this was a pleasant suprise. The lobby area was very clean and inviting. The tables and chairs in the breakfast area spaced out to maintain a safe distance. There was a guest laundry which was clean, and well maintained, with a washer and dryer thatbworked very well. The rooms are very well appointed. They all have a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, and coffee sulplies with nice coffee cups and tea bags available in the lobby. I am on the road probably 100 nights a year and a good work space is imperative. The furnishings were very up to date and the astethics were great. The desk lamp had plug outlets in the base for computers, phone chargers which is great because I HATE having to hunt for a wall outlet in a hotel room. I review and inspect all sorts of properties for a living so I am always looking at details. This property did very, very well and earned the five stars I gave it.
Rudest staff I have ever encountered
If I could give zero stars, I would. Immediately on the get go of checking in for my niece's birthday party, Beth was rude and spiteful. She had attitude because my sister's husband was not present to authorize the room rental although this had previously never been an issue. He was at work until late at night, so he could not be there. I offered to put the room on my card and gave my ID. Even though I did this, she still needed more from my sister's husband? I understand there are policies in place, but she did not explain any of this nicely and it was absolutely humiliating the way she acted towards us. Now I don't know if my sister will get a refund because Beth decided to be an absolute wretch. I work with the public, and I guarantee if I had acted in any sort of way that Beth did, I would be in huge trouble. Thanks for the wonderful birthday memories, Beth. Hope it was worth it.
Horrible and rude staff
We stayed here for a softball tournament. The rooms on the 2nd floor didn’t have working air conditioning units. One of the rooms the door wouldn’t unlock, so staff had to let the family in every time. Late at night, one of the rooms had the key pad beeping and staff told them it was because the window was open. The window wasn’t going to be closed because the room was hot. They fixed it by putting tape around the door lock. They told the family they could move to another room because there was 2 rooms left in the block of 10 we had reserved. It was 11:30 pm. The next morning when checking out, we were told that the place was booked. Some of the rooms were musty smelling as well. The lady at the desk was very rude to us when checking in and out. We got charged for 2 rooms and they wouldn’t let us out of one of them. We only reserved the 1 room online and wanted that room by the other coach when we called them. They didn’t realize we had booked online, so they booked us for the another room. They wouldn’t let us out of it even though it was their mistake. We will not be staying here for any future tournaments.
