Everything was great about this hotel, the rooms are lovely and spacious and clean. We went to the bar to enjoy a couple of drinks before dinner, but after not being served (whilst sat at the bar) for an hour we asked reception if we could get a drink and she told us it was only her and the waiter/barman working but he was too busy serving the food in the restaurant to serve the bar. There unfortunately is not enough staff at this hotel. It’s a shame, but the service is not up to the standard it should be and we should be able to get a drink much faster than we did. It’s quite ridiculous.

Great location at the heart of Nantes , great rooms (spacious, high standard, functional & stylish), majestic lobby and friendly staff. Yannick was most helpful & knowledgeable throughout our stay. We felt that people there care & look after you. Highly recommended.

Terrible Location & COVID Precautions

My wife and I stayed three nights at this hotel. Our room was spacious and fully functional. However, getting to this hotel by car on a Sunday afternoon was a nightmare, despite having received driving directions and street access codes ahead of time from the hotel. Our GPS kept sending us in circles and when we reached the first bollard, we could go no further because a street market for several blocks had the entire street blocked off leading to the hotel. Fortunately, two city workers in a small truck came by and asked if we needed help. Fortunately, my wife spoke perfect French and was able to get them to take us on a detour all the way to the hotel parking lot which still had several spaces left. This whole experience was very stressful coming at the end of a 3-hour drive. Had I known of these issues, I never would have booked this hotel. Further, we were never asked for our Pass Sanitaire when checking in or at the breakfast room during each of the three days we stayed there. Also, the tables in the breakfast room were much too close together with less than half a meter separation. Lastly, the area around the hotel is not particularly pleasant. Both the Place Royale and Place Grasslin were the scenes of major noisy construction activity. The cathedral has been closed for over a year due to a major arson fire.

So many things that aren't right

Good luck finding your way to the hotel if you are walking and even if you can see the it from the terminal. No indication given. We were told that the airport does not want to put signs to the place (?) but even outside of the airport, you still have to walk around to find the hotel through two car parks, creepy at night. Then the keys. We had to go back 3 times downstairs because they did not work. Reason: since Covid they are sanized too often and the system does not recognize them as well as it used to..... Bathroom: our shower bottle was 2/3 empty. Never seen anything like this in a 4 stars hotel. A scandal. Qtips available, which is good. Big plus: coffee machine available in the room and an alternative choice of pillow (very good quality). Last but not least: no plugs by the beds. So forget about charging your mobile phone. It it was not for the location and the pool this place would not be worth it. And watch people at the reception: they put callers on hold forever. Only the restaurant is decent with some organic red wine, Badoit water available

Perfect location for short city break

All you can expect from a 4-star hotel: great service, great breakfasr buffet and ideally located. We stayed for three nights. Long term parking nearby as Nantes is not really a city suited for getting around by car.
