PARTY Central and Out of Control
While from the outside and lobby pictures this hotel appears to be nice, it is out of control. We had overnight on Friday and Saturday. On Friday we had to call the front desk for security 3 times as there was an EXTREMLEY loud party on the floor. Essentially all hotel security did was tell them to quiet down but once gone, the party started again. We had one room facing the parking lot and another room facing the courtyard/pool That room was so loud as both nights people were out and about loud and partying. In fact on Saturday morning someone had crashed into the outside pole. While the rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable, there is NO WAY you can relax at this hotel. Marriott should be ashamed and should clean house with management.
Nice stay
Overall a good experience. The employees were all nice, the food at the bar was good. Bartender Michael was excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The only 2 negatives was that our room was so far from the elevator, despite the fact that most of the rooms in between were unoccupied all week, Also, the airport side of the hotel is loud (as would be expected). At check out, the front desk person screwed up our bill and took what was supposed to be a $50 credit and actually added it in as a charge.
Worst hotel stay in 40 years of travel
Seven days Sunday to Sunday. Prepaid conference. Called on Friday before arrival to add Saturday night. Reservation found no problem, we have plenty of rooms and can accommodate so you do not have to change rooms. Do you need my credit card info. No have all the information I need. Arrived Saturday at 8:30pm. No rooms at all. Stay at Hilton down the street, Saturday night. Arrive for check in Saturday afternoon around 6:00pm. Room ready. Three towels no wash cloths for two people. Coffee pot in room is single cup, yet coffee supplied is for 4 cup coffee pot size. Coffee expired in 2019. Towels never arrive. Got some from a housekeeper on the floor the next day. Restaurant not open. Order limited food from bar tender, it is then presented packaged to go. Yet you can eat at tables in the bar. Bar tender constantly missing from bar as he retrieves food orders. Valet parking $27.00 per night, no problem with price. Once upon returning to hotel at 9 pm we waited 45 minutes for valet who never came. Gave keys to desk clerk. He called the valet, they came out of the back. Twice upon leaving could not find valet. Used my extra keys to retrieve car and had to page front desk to open security gate for exit. Breakfast kinda of sketchy in small room. One morning around 9:30, no milk for cereal, because management forgot to unlock the small refrigerator where milk was stored. The refrigerator next to it was unlocked, but not the milk. The staff had gotten a gallon on milk and was pouring into bowls when cereal was requested. This milk had been sitting on the counter by the coffee pot, ...by 9:30 it was room temperature milk. Our conference had lunch provided most days. Food was never hot and mediocre at best. On Saturday there was no lunch provided by our conference and there was no lunch available at the hotel in any venue. The hotel was at capacity and no food service until 5:00 pm at the bar, again. That evening A large group was having a pizza party in the lobby with children running, skateboarding, and roller skating through the lobby. Sunday morning departure 6:00am. Check out, no valet to give me my keys so I can leave and not return, so I really need my keys. Checking with front desk, I was told the valet was taking someone to the airport and would be back in about 30 minutes. Unacceptable. Manager contacted and looking for key to valet lock box. I retrieved my car using my extra key, was buzzed through the gate. Stopped at front door, the manager had retrieved my key and several other customers wanting to depart. The entire stay was just awful. The employees I spoke with were friendly and shocked or embarrassed by the situation. Many of them apologized for the situation. I believe the general mangers name was Chad. Our conference leaders met with him about the situation, apologies again. The elevator was filthy, the piles of trash (pizza boxes, soda cups, fast food bags) were piled on tables in lobby of each floor by the elevator. Actually this stay was extremely shocking for a Sheraton/Marriott hotel.
Everett, epitome of customer service
Everett who not only served me with the best possible check in but was able to accommodate my every need was a breath of fresh air. After driving nearly 18 hours I was exhausted and trying my best to get home after my mother had totaled her car in Virginia on her way to Kentucky. I really did not want to drive home(in a rental) and found a early morning flight that when booked ended up being sold out. So given the situation he was able to check me in hastily with taste and when I finally was able to book a flight the next day it was at 6:45pm and as much as I would love to hang out in a airport for hours on end he was able to also provide me with a late check out so I had some comfort to be able to work remotely during the day and only have to deal with the harsh two hour early TSA recommendations briefly. All in all Everett gets a 10 out of 10. Valet and Michael the bartender were also friendly, attentive, and on average 8 out of 10. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting or passing through the Nashville area.
The Devil is in the Details
The hotel is a little older, but it was clean with extra measures taken for COVID. The issue I have is with the attention to details. The refrigerator froze anything that you put in it. There was caffeinated coffee for only one cup. The batteries in the remote control were dead. We were charged $5/day for self-parking even though we did not have a car. I did go to the front desk and request batteries. An hour later-no batteries. We called the front desk and were told that they would be delivered soon. We never did get the batteries. The shuttle drivers and the breakfast guy were very good.
