HORRIBLE DON'T GO HERE!!!!!
Horrible horrible hotel...very ghetto and the pictures are so off its not even funny! There is no pool instead there's staff hanging out drinking ...had to walk through some obvious drug users smoking in the walkway to get through to my room and come to find out they're the ones that cleaned the room...rooms were not cleaned very well at all...there was pizza sauce on the microwave handle and inside, hair in the bathtub, not sure what exactly on the mirror...and the manager is an absolute JOKE! Horrible experience and don't recommend!
Filthy
First, I am not overly fussy when it comes to motel rooms but they do have to be clean. I'm usually quite thorough on checking reviews but as it was the first motel I came too and it was late, I went with the overall rating rather than current reviews. I needed to pull out the nightstand to find an outlet for my CPAP machine, believe me, there was no restful sleep after that! There was such a variety of hairs around the bathroom I didn't even take a shower. Breakfast? How about snack. Didn't even have coffee. Run!!!
Do. Not. Stay. Here.
Our office had booked this hotel as a last resort due to other hotels in Norfolk being full at the time. We were aware of previous bad reviews but wanted to take a look for ourselves and sure enough it was just as bad as we had expected. The curtains in my room were clamped together by clothes pins, the floor hadn’t been swept, dirt in the corners of the room and food stuck to the walls. The bed looked like the covers had just been thrown together. When I checked the sheets, there were black specs of dirt and other miscellaneous “things” within the sheets. Someone’s eyelash with mascara on it was found within my sheets, so clearly the sheets hadn’t been washed after the last person slept in it. I pulled up the mattress cover and a large urine stain covered the majority of the top half of the bed. The faucet in the bathroom was dripping. Everything was completely out dated. When we walked into the room it was freezing and smelled like marijuana. Also, when we arrived to check in the staff asked for a “credit card” to have on file in case of damages, etc. They claimed it was a policy from Expedia, but they were unable to use the same card we had used to purchase the rooms. I gave the staff my DEBIT card and they hand-wrote the numbers and expiration date of my debit card on paper. It was suspicious and none of it made sense. The lobby looked nice, but it shouldn’t paint a picture of the entire hotel. The pictures on the website are not accurate. The hotel pool is no longer available as I was told it is being turned into a sand volleyball court. Please read reviews before booking this hotel. The website is very deceiving! See my attached pictures for accuracy.
Quick stay
Check in was slow but friendly. I stayed in one of the executive rooms. Overall fine. Stains on the carpet made the room feel dirty. There was construction going on and very loud. During check out the employee was sitting on a couch covered with a blanket had seemed overburdened by having to check me out. I would definitely go somewhere else if there were rooms available.
Never Again
The only room we could find because of a soccer tournament. Very nice lady at check in. Then we got to our room, it smelled bad. Furniture was old and damaged and we were told that this was one of the updated rooms. Bought a can of Febreeze to make the room tolerable. Looked under the beds before checking out to make sure we didn't leave anything behind and found garbage and a shoe/slipper (not ours).
