THIRD VISIT COMING UP...!

We have visited this hotel twice before and both times without fault. Great service, great food, amazing beach, fab rooms and lovely kind staff with warm hearts and
Our previous visits have been prior to Covid and we are due to visit agian in Oct 21.
I have read several reviews that state that the hotel bars are not open all evening and that only 2 restaurants at a time are available... Please can staff or very recent visitors reassure me that the hotel is running as normal... bars and full range of restaurants open? Are the pools open, is the sports hut on the beach operating?
I understand the additional requirements for taking temps and possibly a longer check in to cover covid matters but once in surely the hotel should be running normally and not reduced... ( after all the price we pay is not reduced) just would really appreciate some honest answers so I can make an informed decision on weather to visit or change my booking.... 2 years since our last holiday so keen to get this right. Thanks everyone.
BEST EXPERIENCE EVER

I had a splendid time at Azul Beach Resort. From checking in to checking out, I was welcomed and felt back at home. The entertainment, the food the people (staff) were so friendly and professional. They made it hard to leave as it was truly memorable. You feel like you are part of their family. Everyday is a new theme with excitement. The beach is amazing! You can see your feet in the white sand. Kishawn, one of the supervisors there always came to ensure the food was good and to my satisfaction. They Dj was great! Loved the music. The entertainment team had lots of excitement and made the moves look easy where you felt like you were on the team with them. I would definitely come back!
People I will always remember:
Kishawn, Annakay, Oshane, Anice, Muscle, Romel, Shanice, Dj Fray, Dj Smokey, Janice, Janieta, Junior, Romario, Ms. Paula, Asauni, Ms. Donna, Mrs. Rita, Kosmo and Dwayne (photography), Tanesha, Phoenix, Oshin, Ms. Verone, Selena, Shantel, Haysinth, Lando, Susane.
Overall, Everyone was pleasant. Some names I don't remember but I truly enjoyed my stay here at Azul.
If only I came to Jamaica earlier and stayed longer.

I had an amazing family trip at Azul Negril. I honestly would’ve stayed longer if I had brought along my work laptop.
From the moment I arrived to the moment I departed, I was constantly surrounded by the nicest and most helpful staff. Given the curfew, our group mostly spent our vacation at the resort - no complaints from me. The property was beautiful and between swimming in the ocean, laying on the beach and hitting up the spa, there was plenty to do.
I loved the fact that there were fitness classes throughout the day and water sport rentals included with your resort stay. I wish I had taken advantage of the gym and daily yoga more because I would’ve left Jamaica in better shape than I arrived. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the fitness offerings at Azul. The whole concept of yoga with a beach view was too perfect. I was a little skeptical at first about spending time at the gym instead of the beach, but Rajay and Romaine caught me on the way to the lobby and convinced me to check out it out. Coming from LA, I can be pretty bougie when it comes to the gym, but the resort’s was actually more than I expected in terms of size and machine variety. Rajay is a terrific trainer and again, coming from LA, where the standards for trainers and fitness instructors is sky high, that says a lot. He went above and beyond in helping me reacquaint myself with using the machines at the gym after having been deprived while in lockdown for months. It was the best workout I had had in almost a year.
Now let’s move onto the spa…it’s almost a month later and I’m still thinking about the massage I got from Cheryl. If I could, I would have a massage from her every week. It was so relaxing and she was able to really work the spots that tightened up from sitting all day working or at night binging Netflix.
And one more thing…the closets in the hotel rooms were too cute. I usually don’t unpack my suitcase all the way, but I did this time. They were clean and looked like a custom closet and not just a sad single rod across the width of the closet. I appreciate the details!
Don’t Reserve with this Resort or Hotel Group!

This resort will not reschedule/refund a cancelled trip after following all-listed guidelines. I had a trip planned for last week Dec 2020 to Jan 2021, during the Covid pandemic. Unfortunately our family members contacted Covid, making it impossible to travel. I cancelled my reservation on their website 7 days prior after having paid full balance. I also had what they call Flexpass which allows rescheduling cancelled reservations. And they had a Covid Travel policy! They are claiming that a technical glitch did not process the cancellation. To this day I cannot get my money back or a travel credit because AZUL Negril will not return the credit and Karisma Hotel, their parent company, keeps blaming Accounting for the issue and acknowledges the system glitch. Be warned especially with Covid still causing illnesses and travel restrictions. Beware this resort and hotel group. Acts like the foreign travel companies you here horror stories about! I’m talking over $5300. I travel extensively. This is without a doubt the worst experience in customer service I’ve ever had. Do not book with Karisma Hotels.
Very nice people; property still in the process of meeting Karisma standards

My wife and I visited this property to celebrate her 40th birthday and our 7 year anniversary. We had 3 other couples to join us on this stay. This was a 7-night stay at the Azul Beach Resort in Negril. We are also Exotic Traveler members
Check-in was very professional and quick - we were led to the premium concierge hut upon arrival and had our stay confirmed, along with the amenities that were granted to us. Upon completion of check-in, we were pleasantly surprised to turn around and see our two butlers, Tamera and Nicholas, ready to assist us. They led us to our room and also gave us a quick tour of the property. They were on top of all details and even took the liberty to ensure we had reservations set for our first night. Nicholas also coordinated a very nice surprise for my wife in that he coordinated with housekeeping to set up a Happy Anniversary / Birthday message on our bed (in the attached pics). Masks were required in most places on the resort and the staff had hand sanitizer at each restaurant (which we appreciated as we continue to fight Covid-19 everywhere).
Each day, Nicholas and Tamera reached out to let us know that our beach chairs and cabana were set up each morning. Drinks were always set up for us by our chairs to welcome us each morning. They checked on us throughout to ensure our drinks were topped off and took lunch orders for us, as well. I would say that having the butler service, in particular this butler service at this property, far exceeded our expectation. If I ever had a question on a reservation on the property for dining or an excursion, we used the Azul app or WhatsApp to communicate with our butlers and always received a timely response.
As for the property - this is where our expectations were not met based on our decision to join Exotic Travelers/Karisma at the El Dorado Casitas location in Mexico. We were married in 2014 on this property in Mexico and were blown away at the cleanliness and how courteous/attentive the staff was. We noticed almost immediately that this Jamaica property was not up to the same standard on the outside of the buildings and with the rooms. We later were informed that this property was acquired (because of the location on 7 mile beach) and that Karisma was in the middle of renovating it when the pandemic hit. I would say that the staff across the property made up for what we felt was lacking in the appearance/upkeep of the property.
Some of the issues that I noted were that, at times, it was very humid/hot in some of the restaurants (poor air circulation). The Azul Beach app that was intended to highlight all of the restaurants, excursions, and amenities was glitchy at times (could not click on certain links). Also, some of the menu items listed were not stocked, which caused frustration at times when trying to place orders (i.e. - there were no mint leaves anywhere on the property to make a mojito). The tv in the room was also very grainy as far as the picture (not a huge deal breaker because we did not watch a lot of tv). Also, there was a breakdown in communication regarding setting up the candlelight dinners and scheduling the promotional presentation - our guests were contacted very late in our stay to get these items scheduled which resulted in very limited options based on what they already had planned to do (we figured next time we would schedule everything immediately). Ultimately, we decided that we could have planned out some things better but for the money we paid, we just expected better execution.
Overall, I would say that we still enjoyed our stay and we would recommend this property to friends and family - especially when renovations are complete. We learned that there will be other properties coming to the island over the next few years and we will plan another trip back to the island to explore the other properties. I hope this review has been helpful to anyone considering to visit in the future.
