We just spent 2 weeks at Treehouse and having stayed at many properties in Negril over the years would rate it near the top. Grounds are well kept and anything you need the friendly staff will try their best. The section of the beach is one of the best and convenient to everything. Will be perfect when the new shopping mall is finished directly across the street. It will feature a HI-Lo for groceries.. I wiil make the following observations which you can decide if it is important to you. 1. From what i could see there are not private balconies except for the 3 lower level suites in the oceanfront category. Others are communal. 2. Food / drink prices have gotten much higher in the past 2-3 years but this is found everywhere on the beach. At Treehouse the redstripe I believe was $4:50 US and bar drinks $5.50 to 7.00 plus 10% tax and 10% service charge on everything you buy. I saw that most people brought their own drinks. Hint: alcohol is much cheaper at the airport. You pass thru duty free after immigration and before getting luggage. 3. I you like a good beach towel , bring your own. The resort towels are the size of a bath towel so dont cover the beach lounge. It is also VERY thin material that is not like terry cloth. 4. Breakfast was adequate. You start with coffee and juice and a fresh fruit plate. On the buffet there are 3 containers with Jamaican fare. Always callaloo, dumplings and daily rotated between Jamaican potatoes they call hash browns , curry chicken, and brown chicken stew.2 containers of hot cereal such as grits, porridge, or oatmeal. You can order fresh cooked eggs, omelets, toast, pancakes, waffles. No bacon or sausage. I was told it was $3 extra. They have good coffee/ banana cake if you ask. Also the service can be slow and spotty at times. Those who travel Jamaica know what I mean and is part of the vibe I love so much 5. The lunch/ dinner restaurant was just ok. There were a few good item. The jerk chicken was good and the best value on the menu. I would only order it at lunch when it was cooked fresh. At night it had been sitting and was dry. 6.I know tipping is a personal choice. i typically tip well for good service but was influenced by the 10% service charge added to every bill. I included this as part of tip but was told by one male server the waitstaff wasnt included. I never pursued it but it sounded fishy. 7. There is a appreciation party on Saturdays from 5-6:30. They have rum punch and popcorn. The live band is usually pretty good but LOUD. 8. Their are no coffee pots in the room but have coffee available at about 7AM at the beach grill. 9. Ice machine available 10. We stayed in a suite which had a fridge, microwave, and cooktop. However the was not one plate, pot, pan, drinking glass or utensil of any kind. 11. The south end of the resort ha no trees you"ll have to fight for shade with your partner due to small umbrellas. On the north end you have a lot of palm trees for shade. 12. The internet was mostly very good. We only had a few times of poor reception on the beach. 13.If you are looking for a party resort this is not it. We found it to be quiet, relaxing, with most being older repeat visitors and many locals. 14. While there were a few floats left on checking out , I heard many state they wish the bought one from home if you like the water. Nice pool and hot tub. I you do not want the larger all-inclusives I would place this as one of the top five in Negril

Family Trip

First time taking kids (3 and 5yo) to Negril (we had been many times over the last 20 years). Stayed in 2 bedroom in back of the property and it was perfect. Everyone had a great time, took full advantage of breakfast, beach, pool and the bar/restaurant. Could not have asked for a better first experience in Jamaica for my kids.

Negril Treehouse trips are always great for our family. We have been visiting since the 1990s and we look forward to returning. The Owner, Manager and Staff always meet our expectations. Good job guys, and thank you.

POSITVES - * Security staff on beach friendly! But at times I felt venerable, as security wasn't available * Cocktails if made by experience staff are good. I had to return a cocktail which was awful. * Many returners from america * Access to the beach, area is kept pretty clean * Very good location, I ventured out on my own and felt safe * Great fridge freezer provided * Ceiling fan and air conditioning very good NEGATIVES - * The rooms are tired. Pealing paint, blinds that do not work, concerning as a solo single female traveller. * Room cleaning could be better * No tea or coffee facilities * Staff on reception are not attentive, if you are a solo English customer! * Staff flip backwards for only american customers * All bills are provided in USD, very unfortunate that a jamaica hotel devalues the Jamaican dollar. * The bar food especially in the evening does not taste fresh. Its cooked earlier in the day, its barely warm when served. Breakfast has both positives and negatives, cornmeal porridge very good. Jamaican cuisines provided, no limits on how often you go back for more. Servers slow at asking if you need a coffee/ tea refill. Went to refill myself on the first day, got snapped at by the staff member making the eggs!

Lovely stay

Treehouse is smaller in size than some of the resorts on 7 mile beach, and that’s exactly what makes it so special. The resort is full of returning customers, some returning for 20+ years. As newbies we were made to feel extremely welcome. Our room was gorgeous and the location of the resort ideal. You’re right next to some great restaurants and nice bars if you want a bit of party. Best bits: the massages on the beach are affordable and absolutely incredible! And they have a dive shop on site: Reef Explorer. 100% recommend going with them. Also the owner Gail is incredibly helpful and lovely - she even drove us to the bus station at the end of our stay! Only small complaint is that the staff weren’t really clear on what is available for breakfast. The buffet is limited due to covid and we had to ask other guests what we can order because the staff didn’t offer up the info.
