More about the hotel
New, Nice, good service and good space
Very nice, new and clean hotel located outside the town. Good and always very friendly service and the rooms are large and clean. Big free parking lot. A bit untraditional - but nice breakfast. The free Wi-fi network has good coverage, but the connection is disconnected if not used, which can be a bit irritating on a connected phone. Cellphone signal is very low inside the building, maybe it´s depending on the operator. The restaurant has a limited and simple menu card. If Wi-Fi and restaurant was improved - it would be a fantastic hotel.
Good hotel
It is a good hotel , only a little expensive. Interesting style of breakfast, bio style, healthy, a la carte . Very friendly staff. Four stars hotel but without kettle, not possible to make tea or coffee.
Cannot be bettered
We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. The concept of reducing waste - from the toiletries in the room to the way breakfast is served - is so clever and original, we wish other hotels did the same; the only plastic we saw is what we had brought. From check- in to check-out the service was flawless and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. Nice room, comfy beds, great shower, original and quirky decor in the public areas, breakfast a bit different from the norm in hotels, but really good. The location is excellent for Neuburg itself, as well as the main road and there is pleasant walking or cycling routes nearby. Love the bee - friendly seed bomb gift (which is already sprouting after 2 days). We would definitely stay here again.
Ideas and money planted in a field will result in this amazing harvest
Acker means field where a farmer ploughs the ground. The hotel is called Acker as the site was a former field growing crop. References to the various crops is cleverly woven into the Hotel with themed rooms, breakfast and also a shop offering local produce. Whilst the hotel has a minimalistic approach it oozes sophistication and typical German quality. There was a lot of exposed concrete but also warm and beautifully crafted timber. Even though the hotel is directly on a main road, rooms are super quiet. 60 rooms over 3 levels, so clearly a boutique hotel with a fresh and very different approach. There are a number of break out areas on each floor offering meeting rooms and table soccer. During summer the hotel operates an extensive outdoor area for hospitality. As per the latest efficient trend, reception also manages the in-house shop and bar. My barista coffee was great....beans are from a local roaster as are many of the breakfast offerings. The Acker prides itself offering a variety of gourmet breads with some interesting toppings. 5 stars from me for the sheer fact that this Hotel pushes the envelope of the conventional in a sophisticated back to basics way.
By far the best alternative in the Neuburg area.
Having visited other alternatives in Neuburg, this brand new hotel (it still smells fresh concrete) is by far the best. It could have deserved 5 stars if there were not smaller glitches to fix. Let's start with these ones, location in the middle of nowhere between the highway and potato fields, you need a car to get here, no restaurant (you need a car to eat out) and in the morning I had the visit of the cleaning lady (hopefully I was in the shower and could not decently answer adequately). There works in the parking so I was nicely woken up at seven o' clock sharp with typical German punctuality by workmen and their machinery. A late drink at the bar is also problematic as staff is eager to go to sleep and has already shut down everything. A pity, the local white wine is delicious. On the pros, super comfy & large room, germanically clean, interesting 'bathroom in the sleeping room' concept, at least if you are intimate with your room mate, kolossale TV and good WiFi. Breakfast is okay, not much choice and you need to order with the lady eggs and a sandwich, all OK but I'd rather prefer a full buffet. All this in a boutique & environmentally -friendly atmosphere (I did not see much plastic here). Last but not least, charming, all-smiling staff
