Great location - wonderful view!
We were touring National Parks and needed a place between Yosemite and Death Valley so we stayed at the BW Topaz Lake. It was right on the highway and had a restaurant and gas station right by it. The room was nice and the management wonderful. We loved the view of the lake from the room and had an awesome run rise view (see photo). Worked out great for us!
Topez Lake BW
Nothing Special, Cold plain lobby over priced. Room was clean, dated furnishings, Had to put the ironing board next to the window, to block out the parking lot light as the room did not have closing curtains. This property is more in the Sure Stay Brand of BW's.
Awful Hotel
We were driving from Las Vegas to Sonora Pass and stopped to stay. We booked 2 beds. We arrived after midnight. The owner seemed pleasant - however he asked twice if we had pets (which we did not). We went to our car where the owner followed us out and paced back and forth. We went to the room that had an AC that kept us up - horrible noises and the room was not clean. The shower had no pressure. We left the next morning and checked out - the owner charged me for an extra person in the room - who was our child- which is why we got 2 beds. My other half would not sign the bill and we have disputed the additional charge. Never has a hotel done this to us with Best Western - and we have never been followed around. Best to probably have continued driving than to stay in a dirty hotel where the AC sounds like it is going to blow up.
Disgusting
Room had a smell to it when the water in the sink would back up! The phone in the room didn’t work for 5 straight days (was told the whole 2nd floor was out) never fixed it. Told them about the sink stopping up! Again nothing. Trash cans in parking lot over flowing for days at a time. They would replace towels in the room, but no soap or toilet paper. That you had to walk down to the lobby for. Again, because phone did not work. Terrible stay.
Worst ever
Room was dirt and smelled had to use air freshener to make it livable. AC unit noise. Reservation for 3 yet room only set up for 2 with towels. Checked out early and no one on duty and luggage carts were all locked up requiring bag drag from 2nd floor with 2 out of 3 handicapped people. Best Western should review and pull franchise. Worst Best Western I’ve ever seen. Way overpriced for accommodations below Motel 6 standards.
