New Orleans Incorrect Billing, Dirty Room & Rude Staff 818871418 I booked this room directly through Marriott and was initially delighted with a price of $167/night quoted by Marriott's central booking agent. That was the END of my delight. I was immediately charged $276.39 for the first night. I called the hotel directly and spoke to Front Office Manager Rita Buie. She made it all so much worse by threatening to cancel my reservation. Apparently threats are the way to handle guests that have been lied to and then robbed. I asked her not to do that. I had no time left to find a suitable alternative. Upon arrival, I was greeted with a room that was covered in dust, with a bathroom door that would not close properly and a $5.99 chilled bottle of "wine" that apparently served as an apology for the $100+ overbilling on night one. I was not impressed. I waited to speak to Ms. Buie several times at the front desk but those other guests waiting to complain about their inaccurate billing led to long lines. The best I can tell, nothing was done for those guests either other than issuing empty apologies. After returning from my trip,, I even called again to give another chance to make this right. I left a message for the Operations Manager, Mr Hopper, who did not see fit to return my call. You can always buy a nice location for a hotel but you cannot as easily hide that you are a bunch of TH****S.
Perfect location, amazing staff & amenities

As a Platinum Elite lifetime member and a business traveler my first choice is always Marriott, but I have a special fondness for the AC brand. In particular the front desk staff were not just professional, but truly displayed a level of hospitality and helpfulness that will keep me coming back. This hotel is in a perfect location to meet both the business traveler and tourist needs. Walking distance to great entertainment, historical sites and the convention center.
Terrible Customer Service

This hotel has the absolute worst customer service. We were told we’d get an exterior room upon check in, but needed to wait an hour and they’d call us when the room was ready. They never called. We came back on our own and the room we were given was interior, with a window that looks at an air shaft. When we asked for a different room, they said we could have one the following morning, and they’d call us. However, in the morning, no one called us and when we asked about it, they said “no, the person who promised you that shouldn’t have”… they went on to aggressively provide excuses about Halloween Weekend and weddings at the hotel; then if they didn’t have a room to offer, they shouldn’t have. After a few more hours, we finally got a new room with a that looked to the outside (who would have thought this would be something you have to beg for). The next day, no one serviced the room, even though we requested it in the app. The following night a couple literally fought for hours, screaming and banging on the walls (a woman literally screaming and crying “help!” Continuously at the top of her lungs); we called the front desk to make a noise complaint, but the fighting continued for hours. The final morning, I requested towels at 7am (since our room was never serviced the day before), at 8:45, I made an additional request-at 10:45 they responded, AFTER we had checked out saying they’d be up soon. I understand being busy, but these big weekends should be planned and staffed for. Most importantly, it’s not the customer’s fault that the staff makes empty promises. We will NEVER be back!
Great rooms and staff

Our experience with the staff was awesome. The building is beautiful, and obviously older. As such, you have the winding, some times confusing hallways, and things seem to be well maintained. Even with historical looking windows, the rooms are very modern, and well maintained. If you use the valet, make sure you leave a bit of extra time to get your car.

Near everything and food was good. Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Room modern and clean. Room has great space and love the bathroom. Who Dat nation owes me nothing. Quite a few places are walking distance
