What a dump!

Stayed here for a convention. Clearly management is using COVID as an excuse to not provide services. Shame on you Marriott!! Breakfast is terrible. Ice machine was broken. You have to beg to have your room cleaned and despite this no one shows up. Guests sit in the hallways drinking beer and carrying on. Awful. Very, very disappointing.
Insufficient onsite parking, rooms facing loud clubs

As frequent travelers to the Big Easy, we were excited to be back for the first time after Ida for a quick 3 night visit. Our usual hotel of choice in the warehouse district was not available on short notice so looked for alternatives that offered on-site self parking. We’re in town for a family visit so expected to come in and out of the parking lot often, on-site self parking is a must. While checking-in online, we were advised to call the hotel or drop by the lobby for parking instructions. Upon arrival, we noticed “parking full” sign. Front desk staff told us unapologetically that they were directing guests to go park a couple of blocks away to the Fulton Place parking garage, at a rate of $20 for 24 hours, the hotel parking was supposed to be $15/night. Problem with Fulton garage is that the rate does not allow in and out privileges, so every entry will cost you $6 plus the overnight fee of $20. The parking structure’s elevator and staircase are kept in unsanitary conditions. Back at the hotel, only one elevator out of 3 was operational, leading to long waits. The room seemed okay at first, kind of dark in second floor and overlooking the street, not really the kind of room we usually get as a Gold Bonvoy at other properties. Overall room looked clean, except for carpet stains and some glue spatter at a corner that I had to double check it was not some fresh bodily fluid. Upon our return around midnight, wait for elevators was even longer and that’s when we realized, our bedroom was only feet away from bustling St Peters club scene, loud music could be heard all night. Contacted the hotel staff by chat from the Bonvoy app, stating that we wanted to check out the next morning due to the parking, carpet and noise situation. We were given some apologies and were asked right then if we indeed wanted to check out in the morning. At that point, we found availability at our usual hotel for next two nights so I booked a room and told the staff over chat that we’d be leaving indeed and would talk to a manager in the morning. In the next morning, we approached the manager, Mr. Coronado and told him the reasons we were checking out. He kind of hinted at the fact that parking would become available that day, however, we were already booked at the other hotel based on overnight staff response. Given the inconvenience and extra expense incurred in offsite parking , we were expecting a rate adjustment. Instead, we were offered Bonvoy points, before we could even explain what we considered reasonable, we received an email with the closed folio with full rate for the night. At that point, Mr. Coronado answered a phone call and that signaled that we no longer had his attention. I really hope, that as a result of this posting, the hotel page gets updated to indicate “limited onsite parking $15, offsite parking, not affiliated with the hotel at $20 up to 24 hours, no in and out privileges”
Stay away if you can

We decided to give this hotel a try ... oh such a big mistake! The hotel is in disarray... needs to be remodeled ASAP, not enough on site parking but... you can park 2 blocks away in a questionable parking garage, no in and out privileges make your cars stay as expensive as your own. There is no mention of the limited parking situation anywhere, it's a surprise. Hotel staff including the manger Edison Coronado are truly annoyed to have you as a guest and have you share your inconveniences. Contacted staff several times to talk about the overly dirty and stained carpeting not just in the hallway but also in your very own room, no idea how to fix this :( Carpet is also coming off so make sure you look at where you step to avoid getting hurt! Oh also, we stayed in a room that overlooks the bar scene, be ready for lots of loud late night music. I believe they have better rooms, as a Bonvoy gold member I would have never expected to be treated so poorly . When I shared my experience with Edison and told him we will be checking out 2 nights earlier than expected ( yes, it was that bad) his only idea to solve the problem was credit my Bonvoy account with a few points ( which I will probably never use ) Edison asked me to give them another opportunity in the future, maybe if he would have tried a bit harder to keep a customer I would have ... but for now, no thank you ! If you are into bad surprises, dirty parking lots, being mistreated by hotel staff, then this is the hotel For you!!! Otherwise, look elsewhere!
a wonderful stay

Prior to our arrival, the hotel staffs communicated with us on chats, which gave us comfortable updates. Because of our transportation delay, we checked in around 2am after midnight. The front doors were locked then, but the front-desk staff quickly came to open the doors for us and gave us warm welcome. Our key cards were ready, and we were able to get some hot water before heading to the room. The room was clean and nice, and all pre-requested items were there. Throughout our two-nights stay, we met five different front-desk staffs, and they are all friendly and professional. We had healthy breakfast in both mornings. The first morning staff was kind and patiently to provide us local guides and tourist information.
Great for families, great location

Our room was perfect for my four children and me; we especially liked the West Elm sofa bed! Room was updated, spacious, clean and comfortable. Front desk was very helpful and was able to immediately give us another room when we discovered ours had a commode problem when we arrived. The parking garage was full, but parking in a lot across the street was no big deal. Loved the location away from the wild and crazy of the French Quarter, yet close enough to walk.
