Heroes and the helm
The excellent rating pales in comparison to the heroic actions taken during the pandemic. It takes a staff of roughly 75 to run the hotel during normal times. Currently they are down to about 10 because of C-19. That's a lot of displaced workers. How did The Saint management respond? They have housed the displaced workers, along with their families, in the hotel until they can (hopefully) re-employ them. The hotel manager, who we saw night and day, Mr. (Byron?) Hill has been working over 100 hours a week for 6+ months, donating those hours to pay for the displaced workers. Heroes at the helm! As for the hotel - great location, quirky but nice décor throughout, very spacious king room, incredibly attentive staff. Shout outs to Mr, Hill of course, Special K - super friendly, extremely helpful and the concierge Cantrell who was able to arrange for a last minute T'giving tour for us when our plans were cancelled and nothing seemed available or open. Nothing is perfect - bed and pillows seemed to be end of life and the room is not equipped with a coffee/tea maker, but neither detracted from an excellent stay and a wonderful hotel.
Nice room but...
Nice room, great staff, good location. But, I don’t know if I would stay in any hotel again in a room near Canal Street. Cars outside with loud music all night. We are on the 5th floor and it’s bad. The Ritz is next door and unless they have special sound proofing I can’t see how it would be any better.
Wonderful weekend trip!
We just spent two nights, 48 hours, in New Orleans! The hotel was great for us! The restaurant was very good. The staff, especially the desk gals and Special K, seemed to live there! Our room was clean, but we had a view of the hotel next door that they were tearing down- even on the weekend. This isn't the hotels fault, but I'd ask for a room that faced Canal Street or opposite the construction. We took the trolley, went to the WW2 Museum and enjoyed great food! We'll stay here again for sure!
Great Stay!
Exellent stay and promixate to everything in French Quarter. Staff friendly and welcoming. "Special K" is among the most personable and gracious hotel staff members we have ever experienced. Clean property. Room was intimate but very comfortable.
Great stay
Enjoyed everything. The rooms was clean and very nice. Breakfast was great also. Everything is right around the corner fro what you need and very quiet and respectful. Would definitely stay again and give it 10 thumbs up
