W hotel New Orleans I always thought that the W is a hip style upscale modern hotels but unfortunately I was so disappointed when I stayed at the W New Orleans in July 2021. Pros: 1- Location in the heart of the French Quarter 2- Balcony is nice (if you get a room with it) Cons: 1- Very plain Check-in no help with luggage, they did not even bother to show us the room 2- Corridors are full of leftovers from other rooms and they were there on the floor the whole stay 3- very very loud and you hear everything from guest rooms 4- furniture and decoration of the room is outdated, big time! Cheap wanna be different way. 5- Dont be fooled by the swimming pool photos. Its as big as a bath tub. 6- concierge when got the car from the garage after check out did not even help with loading the luggage and was standing just waiting for a tip 7- when we complained at Check out about our unpleasant stay they said the manager will come and talk to you, she did not bother and sent the receptionist with a $50 dollars credit which we declined. She did not bother to hear from us. We already paid $300 per room per night, and we expected something better Conclusion, never again and will never recommend it.
Not Up to "W" or Marriott Standards

Staff seems a bit inept; had a major billing problem and still waiting for a resolution, Rooms are dated but fairly clean. Pool was small and dirty. Restaurant looked good, but never seemed to be open. Bar staff not very accommodating and slow. Location is good if you want to be in the French Quarter, but the bigger hotels on Canal St are probably a better option. Too may issues here and the staff doesn't handle them well at all. I would never book this hotel again.
Ok but not great

Difficult to get into. Valet parking only. The staff Friendly, and it is located in the middle of the main part of the city. Many restraints near by. It does not fit what one would envision for a W hotel. The decor was a bit distracting for my taste. The
Great location, wonderful staff!

I was worried about the trip; I had chosen the W due to the reputation of the hotel chain and the convenience of the location. I actually bought a power strip to bring based on the reviews here. Don't bother doing the same, there were two of use with multiple devices and there was no problem with outlets at all. The staff was so helpful, and kind, and mindful of our time. I truly do not understand the bad reviews. I recommend this highly. Right in the heart of the French Quarter, and across the street from a breakfast place with the best grits I've ever tasted. The pool was fantastic, we had a balcony, and really enjoyed the option of watching the courtyard band below when they played. The breakfast options were meh, but really didn't matter. The security was on point; gates closed at dusk and room key was required to get onto the property, and the elevator. Room was clean, maid service was perfect, and the bed was heavenly.
The BEST customer service

1. Free sangrias when you check in. 2. Freddie (sorry of this is the wrong name) was extremely friendly and seemed to know everything about NOLA. He also had an amazing fashion sense! 3. They let my mom and sister check out late. 4. My husband and I checked out on time, but they held our bags at the front for us while we spent our last couple hours walking around the French Quarter. 5. Everyone was incredibly helpful and friendly. So far, my favorite W I've stayed in!!
