The Pierre, timeless with superb service (during C19)
Fido and I were greeted La Guardia; Yvette and Maurice (concierge) handled all details including arranging a last min hair cut (day after xmas). Door men are incredible too. Beds comfortable. Smoking is permitted on certain floors. Next door to Central park. Super great experience as always with great street food next door - Middle eastern plates.
Dreams Crushed for The Pierre
I was swept away with visions of everything The Pierre should be when presented with a holiday getaway gift. Unfortunately, it was the opposite during our recent dream getaway. The purported pictures of working fireplaces were fictitious, the suite had non-operating fireplaces. The complimentary Continental breakfasts were not free as stated, and had the charm of McDonalds every morning with bland biscuits and cafeteria styles of butter and jam. Asking for real silverware was as if you were asking for the Moon. Then, the icing on this bad cake was getting screamed at in the Lobby by two people and having them call Security on us when we were admiring the restaurants which are closed due to COVID. The people harassed us and asked us what our Room number was as if we were criminals. After speaking with Management, they did nothing truly to defend our position in the matter. Then, the drain in the shower clogged and my last relaxing morning consisted of the water flooding the bathroom and the bedroom. Security came and accused me of "doing something" to cause the incident and asked why didn't I stop taking a shower. I was horrified because who leaves shaving cream and soap all over them?? Never again will I stay there.... So disappointed. An additional comment, the Hotel went Co-Op so there are residents there who show resentment towards Hotel Guests. I feel financially and emotionally robbed after those Security men barged into my Hotel room and the residents harassed and discriminated against me as a Hotel guest.
Magnificent
What can I say that hasn't already been said about The Pierre? Stunningly beautiful, classically elegant, and the service is outstanding. My special thanks to Maurice, the concierge, for arranging all of the special touches.
GM/Owner Doesn't care about Clients
All Hotels have issues but its the Great Hotels that make sure all is well. The Pierre doesn't believe in this. The GM is RUDE & UNPROFESSIONAL. While speaking with him I asked if he even Cared, His answer was NO. Now this is the PIERRE BEST MANAGER. IT COST ME 9K FOR 5 DAYS TO BE TREATED LIKE GARBAGE.
Diversity to the next level
As you can see from the names of the staff, Ana, Ivette, Pedro, George, Muhammed and many others, diversity is very important for this hotel. Which is why it makes it so special. It was obvious to me that everyone loved their job and therefore everything was more lovely. BIG Thank You to all of you for making this unforgettable. It is a 5 starts hotel so ofc the room and view especially exceeded our expectations.
