At the Hotel Indigo® Newark Downtown hotel, you’ll notice a unique connection between our boutique hotel and the neighborhood. Our building was erected in 1912 and designed by Cass Gilbert as the National State Bank; we still honor these roots today with a front desk created from reclaimed teller desks and by integrating the original bank vault into our restaurant’s design. I stayed at this hotel for a concert in the nearby Prudential Center. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the proximity to the center and other areas downtown was perfect, too. It was just a quick walk around the corner to and from the concert, which was ideal. Downtown Newark is what it is... but I felt safe in this hotel. Staff were all friendly and helpful, as well. I highly recommend staying here!
Clean, comfortable, close to the Prudential Center

The room was clean and comfortable. I loved the decor. It looked to be a former industrial building converted to a hotel. It was an awesome structure inside. It was within walking distance to the Prudential Center and some very nice bars and restaurants! The employees were very friendly. If we attend another game at the Prudential Center, we will definitely stay there again.
Better than expected

This hotel is located downtown Newark, which is very challenging to drive to because of traffic restrictions in that area - no left turn here, no right turn there. But once you get there, hotel is an old bank that has been renovated to be a hotel, excellent service, extra security, great valet, big rooms, comfy beds. When booking your stay, get the parking rate to save money on the parking. Cons: if you are travelling with someone, barn door to bathroom might not allow for enough privacy, elevators small

The rooms are really spacious! The staff are friendly, the restaurant has good options for breakfast, and the rooms are clean! We have rooms facing the street but surprisingly, it’s really quite at night! We had a good night sleep! The hotel is also conveniently located. I recommend this hotel.
Great Downtown Newark Stay

I recently stayed at Hotel Indigo in Downtown Newark, NJ for a business trip. The room was spacious, comfortable, and I had a great view overlooking bustling Broad Street. Hotel Indigo is close to everything and I was able to get back and forth from my meetings with no problem. If you are traveling to Newark to explore the City, travel in and out of New York City, or for some other reason, Hotel Indigo is a great place to stay.
