Lovely friendly guest house - highly recommended

We stayed at Grove Guest House with our two young children to enable us to have a stress free trip into central London. Hazel was very welcoming upon our arrival, she was so kind and nothing was too much trouble. We had a very comfortable stay and would most certainly written. The tube station is just a few minutes walk from the guest house and off street parking was extremely helpful.

Grove Guest House

Reviewed 19 october, 2021

Surely the Grove Guest House must be amongst the top places to stay in London, and one of the most unusual. As well as being extremely comfortable, clean, quiet and generally what you want when you stay anywhere, the room I stayed in was spacious, with a very comfortable bed and in a modern but traditional way, delightful. But the treat on top is Hazel, the host definitely with the most, in charm, in anecdotes of the area and the East End, stretching back to when her grandparents bought the house long ago. And if you’re interested, in what is happening and changing now in this interesting part of London. The house, crowded with a mass of bric a brac maybe stretching back to her grandparents time and beyond, and the artworks still being produced by Hazel and friends, makes the house almost an artwork in itself, so that guests are able to have an artistic experience as well as one of extreme comfort. And if you’re lucky you might meet other guests, as Hazel seems to attract interesting visitors from everywhere, many of whom come back and back. And a big plus is that it’s very easy to get to. The Elizabeth Line, with modern and commodious carriages wizzes into Stratford and Liverpool Street, and there seems to be a good bus service. I’ve been to many bnb’s throughout the world and stayed in many places, and this has to rank tops by a mile.

Welcomed with open arms!

I came to stay with my boyfriend and we were greeted with open arms by Hazel at her guest house. Our room was beautiful with an en-suite bathroom and tea making facilities provided. There is so much love and community in this house it will make you want to come back for more and be part of it.

Good to be back

First time in almost 2 years, fantastic stay, the garden was lovely to sit out in in the evening after work. Fortunately, some things never change, this hidden gem is one of them. I shall be staying again soon.

Like a stay with your coolest auntie but with the most amazing shower 😊

Absolutely adored Hazel and her house. So much nicer than staying in a faceless chain Hotel. Hazel cares about everything. It really is like going to stay with a loved auntie. All the hotely things you expect are there too if course Lovely bed, amazing shower, lovely breakfast and a fantastic bohemian atmosphere ❤️❤️❤️
