Hewitts are #1

Opinión escrita el 6 de enero de 2023

It is such a refreshing experience dining and staying in the Hewitts rooms and restaurant. All members of staff are friendly and helpful. The relaxed atmosphere in the dining area, combined with beautifully cooked food, sets a standard rarely found anywhere these days. Big congratulations to Dean and Josh - for a most enjoyable stay, and dining experience.

Will be back!

Really enjoyable stay. We had booked 3 en-suite rooms which were extremely comfortable, generously proportioned, well-stocked and my husband particularly liked the sofa where he enjoyed perusing the weekend papers. Breakfast was available between 8-10am comprising both continental and cooked: delicious scrambled eggs, bacon and toast. Huge windows opened out onto the walled garden; Room 5 had a lovely view over it. There is a car park located close by.

EXCELLENT STAY

Opinión escrita el 3 de agosto de 2022

We booked to stay at Hewitts for x2 nights as was going to see my Uncle and Auntie, and also attend God Daughter's Wedding. We were very warmly greeted by Kate when we arrived, the place was clean and immaculate, and we were allowed to go into our room early, which helped us tremendously as we had such a busy timetable. The room was wonderful, very clean with a Kingsize bed, everything catered for, en-suite, clean towels, toiletries, TV, tea/coffee making/ Fan and Heater and overlooking the 'Secret Garden' so lovely and quiet at nightime. We booked an evening meal in the restaurant on the first night and had a great choice and the food was absolutely delicious and great wines. The lady and gent (who was Dean who had been so very good corresponding with me before we arrived and accommodating my needs letting us check into our room early) both served us and were very professional and not intrusive and made us feel relaxed and did not rush us at all. The Breakfast is a 'light' Breakfast which was ample for us and a good variety. Would be nice to have a bread plate at the table for muffins and pastries if you have them, but this is only a very minor thing. The car park which is chargeable is just across the road. Hewitts recommended a tourist psss for £15 for x2 days parking and they provide details on this. We would definitely stay again when in IOW. Tip - If you need a taxi we recommend Leader Cabs. We originally pre booked a taxi with another Taxi Company taxi to take us to the Wedding and it never turned up and we couldnt get a taxi until much later. Leader Cabs came to our rescue and are very reliable and send you a text to confirm and pre quote.

Visited during the IoW Festival and this was a very welcome oasis away from the madness. Very homely little hotel above a restaurant, centrally located. Check in can be done in advance meaning it’s very quick when you arrive. Dean greeted us and was very informative and welcoming. Kate looked after us every morning with a lovely breakfast. Full English plus cereals, juices, yogurts etc. My partner didn’t fancy a full fry up so the chef made her a delicious omelette. It was extremely hot during our stay but unlimited bottled water was provided over and above the tea, coffee, water etc in the room. A nice touch. Bed very comfy and room well decorated. Nice spacious bathroom with shower and toiletries provided. There’s good sized garden area to the rest where you can relax with a drink rand the lunch and dinner menus looked fantastic. Unfortunately we didn’t manage to enjoy it due to being at the festival all day. Thanks for a great stay, can’t wait to return next year.

Two night stay with breakfast and dinner on the 2nd night

Opinión escrita el 21 de mayo de 2022

We stayed at Hewitt's for two nights with dinner on the 2nd night. Kate, who checked us in, was charming and very helpful. She also looked after us for breakfast and nothing was too muchtrouble for her. The room was very comfortable, with a big ensuite bathroom. Dinner was great, I had the Skate Wing which was the biggest I have ever had. My husband had a large fillet steak, which he ate very happily. The venue has a garden which is great for pre-dinner drinks, weather permitting. If you eat at the restaurant, leave plenty of space for your dinner. Dean, front of house, was very friendly and made us fell relaxed and very chatty with us whilst Josh, the Chef, did an amaxing job in the kitchen. We will definately be back.
