Amazing hotel with terrific employees! We could not have asked for a better place to stay in Newport. Close to everything and the staff was great! There was not one person who worked there that didn't go out of their way to make sure our stay was perfect. I celebrated my birthday while I was there and was surprised by a bottle of wine , a cheese plate and a hand written card wishing me a happy birthday. The room was great! Lots of space and immaculate. The staff at the front desk are amazing and always there to assist. The lobby bar staff are friendly and incredible. I can't imagine staying elsewhere on our future visits to Newport. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting the area.

Arrived with a car in a trailer. Doorman told us he didn't know where we could park and walked away. Our room was down so many corridors that we felt we were in a different hotel. The room was wallpapered in grey, not sure why they bothered with wall paper. No art on the walls except over the only desk where you need a mirror. Bathroom was split into 2 rooms and extremely dated. No maid service and no offer of clean towels. On the last day we found out that there is a bar on the roof. You can get to it...if the elevator works! We asked the doorman to get us a taxi and he said he couldn't, so we asked the front desk. The girl at reception got out a phone book and wanted to know where we were going. Very odd. We just called for an Uber ourselves. Terrible service, outdated hotel
Ants! Smelly dated room! DONT BE FOOLED, NOT A LUXURY PROPERTY

The room had ants. The ants entered our suitcases. We moved rooms but brought them with us. The new room had flies. Both rooms smelled musty. The furniture, decor, bathrooms, and hallways were all dated and abused. The walls are thin so expect to hear your neighbors. The lobby is nice so the website is a tease. If you're in the real estate business you know that this property needs a PIP (property improvement plan) to bring it in the 21st century. Do yourself a favor and find another option or stay here and lower your expectations.

Facility is run down. The carpets in the halls are stained. Rooms have few amenities -not even a comfortable chair to sit in. We stayed in Newport to attend a family wedding and reserved as part of wedding block. Consequently, we did not pay the advertised room rate for the holiday weekend. If we had, we would have been furious. I would definitely not go to this hotel if planning a weekend get away.

Chantel is awful. They use Covid as an excuse to deprive you of any reasonable services. Virtually no maid service. No clean towels. No trash emptied. No water in the room. No wet bar. Oh and did I mention the elevators breakdown. The carpet is threadbare. The place looks like crap
