Flots d'Azur - cozy hotel
Flots d'Azur is located in a very nice location on the seafront. There are bus stops nearby. The service is extremely good with an individual approach. Very friendly staff. I would go back there again and again.
Good!
- My husband and I stayed in Room 102, which was small but clean. - decor and furniture in the room a bit worn, but perfectly functional. - bathroom has been partially refurbished and is clean, though nowhere to hang towels. - good shower pressure. - no refrigerator and no tea/coffee provisions in the room. - partial view of the ocean was nice. - staff were very friendly and spoke good English. - USB powerpoints were handy (no adapter needed). - electric outdoor blinds to block out the sun whilst sleeping were great. - no elevators; needed to carry luggage up stairs. Overall, a good place to stay.
Good, next to the beach and promenade.
Close to the airport and just next the promenade to a public beach (pebbles, not sand). It takes about 20 minutes to walk to the old town along the promenade. We got a room in the basement, which the old man in the reception in a little strange way made completely clear to us. I guess they are annoyed of people giving bad reviews just because they got a basement room. I didn’t know I booked a basement room, he then showed me a proof that I have booked a basement room. I checked my own booking confirmation and saw the problem. Although everything else is in English the room type is not translated to english, it does not say Basement, it says Rez de Jardin which is similar in French, I hope this is not something the hotel have done on purpose and that they improve the translation of the room type to spare guests of surprises. At least something to look out for all of you when you are booking. Nevertheless, it didn’t matter. The basement room was ok, I wouldnt count it as a basement really. It had a normal sized window, was clean, and had a great AC and for the price point we got I didn’t expect a room with a sea view or similar.
charming
We stayed for 4 nights in a room with a sea view and a balcony. The room was kept exceptionally clean and the maid didn't move anything at all out of the place we had left it, which is always an excellent thing. We ate breakfast outside on the terrace by the side of the hotel and there was so much that even I couldn't finish it, and I am a very greedy person: scrambled eggs with ham; two large baguette slices; two croissants; jam and cheese spread; a plate of fruit and two slices of cake. The manager, Joseph, is completely charming and hugely helpful with advice about restaurants, places of interest and how to reach them and so on. The only very slight down side is that it takes 15-20 minutes to walk to the old part of Nice for dinner (the hotel has no restaurant) but there are plenty of trams and buses to take you there if you are having difficulty walking after the huge breakfast. I really really recommend this lovely little hotel.
Loved it !
Communication via email with the staff was fast and responsive. We had requested for sea view room and we absolutely loved the view of the room. We had a great view of the sea and the people passing by.The room was not cramped and the bed was comfortable. Everything was clean and wifi was strong. Staff was attentive and friendly and made our stay enjoyable. It is a family run hotel and the owner allowed us to store our bags there after checkout. There are several bus stops nearby the hotel which connects to the airport and the town. It is about 20-25 mins walk to the main town and we enjoyed the walk walking along the sea and passing by the other hotels and restaurants. We enjoyed our stay and the hospitality of the family. Just a note that those with mobility issues to request for rooms on ground floor as there is no lift in the hotel.
