Great location
We had a Queen studio.. did not look as fresh apealing as their photos. Bed was very comfortable, but would have preferred a duvet opposed to just a light blanket. Floors appeared clean but could not walk on them barefoot without having to wash your feet due to dirt. Bathroom extremely small and needs maintenance. Clothing cupboard smelt like sour milk. We had to request toilet paper on arrival and again during our stay. The reception hours were inconsistent, but could get hold of staff on their mobile. We received no information about services offered e.g. room cleaning, wifi etc on arrival. We had no room service during our stay. It would be advisable to at least have someone vacuum the floors. Even though we where careful not to bring sand into the room it invariably sticks to towels and bags. We found a vacuum cleaner in the passage so vacuumed the floor ourselves. We spent very little time in our room so made do for 3 nights.
Great location but dirty accommodation
We arrived at 1.55pm for a 2pm check in. Were told to come back in 15 minutes as they were still cleaning which was not a problem. When we came back 20 minutes later the manager told me that he was busy making coffees and we had to wait, again no problem. He then advised me that the room still wasn't finished being clean and we would have to wait longer, we were now borderline running late for the event that we were meant to be at. We eventually got to our room to be told that the key for the room was stuck in the door. The room was dirty, there was obvious mould and dirt in the shower. The shower caddy has dirt and someone's old razor head in it. There was also hair behind the bathroom door and pubic hair on the wall. The floors felt dirty and the beds were uncomfortable. When I sent a message regarding the cleanliness of the room the manage told me that they would rectify it, however when we returned the room had been tidied but not cleaned. The room was also noisy as we were situated right next to the stairs on the second floor and could hear people walking up and down at odd hours of the night. Definitely would not recommend staying here.
Very odd!
We just stayed at 10 Hastings Street for one night but would never recommend it. The room is nothing like the photos. Our balcony was unshaded, next to the air conditioning exhaust fan and the rubbish bins. That aside the people who run it were very strange. We had to park in a council car park and my husband went to get the car as I remained with the luggage. When he returned he pulled into the very narrow drive way and one of the workers asked if I was right. I said we were just leaving and she got very defensive and said they had to get a car out. As my husband reversed another worker in a black van tried by to reverse simultaneously and into us. We very nearly got hit. There were no apologies or customer comes first. What a disaster.
Romantic weekend away
Thankyou to the team at 10 Hastings st I always stay here as the Hotel is perfectly central to everything we need for a short getaway We never get in the car as soon as we arrive & enjoy the short stroll along shops, restaurants & to the beach The rooms are extremely clean & comfortable & the staff are always friendly, helpful & relaxed Breakfast at the front cafe is always our last port of call on the Sunday morning Much appreciated to all the staff, cheers Seeya next time 😊 Dave
It's different
Ok . Bad stuff first. It's tiny. Rooms are very small and not as they are in photos. The bathroom is just so small I can't get over it. There's no storage for clothes. Door handle in bathroom broken ,cupboard door in bathroom broken ,found 1/4 roll of toilet paper hiding in said cupboard. None on holder. Check in was kinda ok. Place is a disorganised mess tho . Hot tub lol !! A pile of broken timber in a junkyard. No offer of wi fi password given. Toilet dripped all night. Carpark off site. The good. Location. Reasonably clean ,but is it worth the $ ..not until they fix the issues that are obvious . Reading back thru some reviews ,most of these issues are pointed out ,but not been fixed. Overall it was not all bad ,but there's so much better out there for only a few extra dollars. It's the location that sells it. I really want to give it a better wrap as there's so much potential ,but the flaws are obvious and fixable .
