Great value for your money, just a little far from the action
We loved our stay at Porntherp Mansion. The room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfy, and the amenities were quite new. The only down side is that it is quite a ways from the city center and the beach. You have to walk a good 30 min to get to the beach, which is not so bad. There are still quite a few eateries around so it's fine for a few days.

The smaller group traveled to Thailand for a month.This hotel was definitely the best choice. Extremely friendly staff, the rooms are spacious, bright, clean and stocked with all the necessary, including daily supplementation with coffee and bottled water. That was the reason for us to continue our stay. We warmly recommend it and definitely come back.
Bad condition of hotel
This hotel is not in good condition. Toilet are not much clean and somehow toilet water runs through the walls to the room. Staff is friendly but only one of them speaks english. Staff sometimes are not on the counter.
Medium
The hotel was good, clean, with air conditioning and clean the room every day, but has no receptionist, so when you need anything it's a lottery that someone be here. It's far from the Ao Nang center, but an almost 700 meters from a good beach and for 50 meter from a market. When it's storm the electricity cut, and didn't has water (cold or hot). Was cheap but I will prefer spend a little more in one best placed.
Cheap and cheerful
We enjoyed the balcony. There's a Family Mart and restaurant with great food opposite. Room and bathroom were clean. Lock on the wardrobe which i appreciate. Staff friendly but sometimes hard to find. Also I'd recommend renting a motorbike as it's a bit far from Ao Nang centre.
