Great place to visit for a family vacation. Activities for all ages on-site. Off-site options, close to Grandfather Mountain, Tweeter Railroad, skiing, zip lines, wine tasting, gem mining and shopping.
Great location for a foliage outing but not up to par

On arrival, it was clear our unit hadn't had a good cleaning in a long time. Visible mold on a shower curtain, caked on gunk on HVAC return grate, caked on dust on floor trim, quite dusty top of refrigerator. When reported, service response was quick and complete, so no issues with staff. There is still no pool. After 2 years of new (Bluegreen) management, that's still in "design stage".
Great Mountain Resort

Overall enjoyable stay at the start of the fall color season. Staff knowledgeable, efficient and friendly, with multiple daily activities onsite. Close to Grandfather Mountain, Parkway and multiple hiking trails to falls and mountain views. Close to Boone, Banner Elk and several vibrant small towns. Note that the main facility/pool building is closed due to foundation issues. Check in and inside activities are in the smaller admin building.
Nice week in NC mountains

One bedroom unit was updated but dark with no view. Resort had lots to do but pool is permanently closed. Great location to explore area. Resort was under construction in September. Close to Banner Elk.

old worn out furniture, old worn out carpet in units. roads in disrepair, no pool and many months before they can reconstruct one, they say they are working on improvements but they take time. evidently Blu-Green just acquired this resort but nothing is happening fast.
