The Esmeralda Inn & Restaurant

Sept.17, 2020 After spending two full days at this beautiful historic Inn, we felt a warm welcome and care from all staff, level of hospitality reminding us of the life in the castle :) This place is surrounded by most amazing views of nature, mountains, forest, beautiful landscapes and the sound of a rushing mountain river across the road. The food was delicious and prepared with care. Rooms have comfortable beds, fluffy oversized towels, with all other necessities for you when you’re traveling. If you’re interested in a massage, spa is available at your service. Outside there’s plenty of space for a walk. Find yourself in the garden, across from a humongous historic rock, which lays by the stream, on the back side of the Inn. This beautiful place will stay with us in our memories for a long time. We definitely recommend this place. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We are driving from Florida to Seattle WA, and found this place by are Freands recommendation!!!!! Best place in NC !!! Service is Excellent!!! Awesome view to the mountains!!!! Awesome people!!! Stayed here on a Friday and Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend’s 50th birthday. From the phone call in which I made the reservation to the moment we checked out, it was nonstop wonderful customer service. I arranged for a cake to be waiting in the room upon our arrival and I have to say the cake exceeded my expectations. Obviously made fresh on site with fresh strawberries and kiwis. The room was small but perfect, with a great view of the mountains. The level of cleanliness throughout the inn was exceptional. Dinner on Friday night at the restaurant was wonderful. I had the filet which was cooked perfectly and my boyfriend had bacon wrapped scallops which were excellent. We were forced to spend much of our weekend indoors because of the rain, but we had so much fun playing chess and pool in their spacious and comfortable game room. Sadly we didn’t get to try the hot tub because of the weather, but look forward to trying it when we come back, which I definitely believe we will. The staff was amazing. Very attentive and professional and the daily breakfast that was included with the room could not have been any more amazing. Pancakes, muffins, and breakfast casserole were spot on. I’m so grateful for the hospitality that made this weekend so enjoyable and memorable. To be honest, I can’t think of anything negative to say at all. You should definitely book a stay at the Esmeralda if you’re ever in the area.

Overpriced, small rooms, bad food. The Only thing this Inn does for COVID is the staff wears a mask. When we didn’t feel comfortable eating the breakfast in the restaurant due to COVID, they said we could eat in the room that did not have anywhere to eat except on our laps sitting on the bed!!!!! You think with COVID they’d be prepared

We expected a honeymoon like experience- instead we left 2 days early even though all nights of a reservation had to be paid 10 days prior to coming with NO REFUNDS allowed for early checkout! If you are faced with such a policy BEWARE-there is a reason they have it! So many problems that there is not enough room to list. Tip- if you do go don't get room 7 !!! only view is out a very small window looking at a steel fire escape-nothing mountain about it. Sad- never had such a bad experience and we travel all the time, usually twice each year to Smoky Mountain area.
