Good hotel, needs updating
Stayed here for one night in August as a stopover on the way home. All staff were cheery and check in was easy. Rooms are adequate but really need updating. Shower worked well. We ate in the restaurant and the food was pretty good. Breakfast in the morning was slow but tasty. Good hotel offering superb value.
Disappointing food
We have just eaten a meal at The Walnut Tree Hotel, somewhere I’d never eaten before. It was hugely disappointing. My partner ordered a burger and I ordered slow cooked shoulder of lamb cassoulet. The burger was greasy and processed, my boyfriend said it was the worst burger he’s ever eaten! Sorry to say this, but it needs to be improved. It most definitely wasn’t homemade. My lamb cassoulet was also massively disappointing in taste and texture, it was fairly tasteless. It was overpriced too, at £16. Very disappointing as I was expecting good food this evening.
Overnight stay
Lovely hotel, everything spot on, all signs and measures in place to keep us safe, lovely staff who are so helpful. I had an upgrade on my booking through booking.com and the room was spacious and spotless. The bar area was roomy and well laid out as was the restaurant
Excellent 2 day stay
Stayed her for 2 nights and it couldn’t have been better! The room I had was spotlessly clean and so spacious, plenty of towels it was a great first impression. Ate in the bar one night and had room service the other. The food was excellent and the service so attentive! I would recommend the chicken supreme, I didn’t have it myself but the person I was with did and it looked fantastic and tasted even better. Cheryl and Daniel were the 2 staff I encountered and they couldn’t have been nicer or cared more that I had a great stay. Really impressed and definitely would go back.
Business lunch
Multiple visits to The Walnut Tree. Great location, easy parking, covid safe, friendly staff and excellent food. Go options for vegetarians. Would recommend for anyone wanting a nice environment for a meal out.
