Dirty Rooms and Poor Management

The positive reviews are true about the stunning views but that was probably 1% of my experience. Only two staff members were available so it would explain why our room smelt old and had dust collecting in places. Even had a lot of dirt collecting above the mosquito nets. My advice? Inquire about available facilities and details before booking during this lockdown in Fiji because most of them are not available except for a room to sleep in and a place to eat. The Manager and her assistant isn’t really transparent with information regarding the hotel. A little note: The Manager does not take criticism well. Probably the only hotel/lodge where the Manager is always right and not the customer.
A Secluded Gem

I spent a night here with my Dad and Aunty and we were so pleased to discover Palmlea. It's off the beaten track and requires a 4WD to navigate the roads, but the location is absolutely worth the effort. While the recent cyclone has altered the gardens, we enjoyed both the stunning sea views from the dining room and our delectable meals- the homemade pesto pasta was a highlight! Julie was a kind and attentive host. We were impressed to learn that the resort construction was a community affair involving local labour from a neighbouring village! For anyone content with rustic conditions, this is a hidden piece of paradise. We'll be back next time we come through Labasa.

Such the perfect place for us to stay. Easy. laid back, real, unpretentious. We loved it here. Clean, home food. The swimming pool was lovely. Julie the host loves people, her staff we all real friendly. A wonderful place away from the crowds.

This wonderful gem is off the beaten track and will greet you with stunning views, warm and friendly vibes. Julie and the staff go out of their way to make you feel like part of the family attending to your every need. The accommodation is well thought out, the pool is extremely inviting, we spent time on the paddle boards and kayaks down at the jetty in the sunshine, we spotted a sting ray and any number of cool fish from the jetty. The food is wonderful, a delicious breakfast and plenty of options throughout the rest of the day all cooked with homegrown veggies from the amazing garden. We visited Vanua Levu for the first time this trip and extended our stay as we didn't want to leave Palmlea Farms. Thank you all for such an amazing stay, we will be back as soon as possible. P.S. missing your hot sauce already.
