4 night stay
Had a lovely 4 night stay at The White Swan Inn. Had a lovely spacious ground floor room, with everything you could need. Large bathroom with an amazing shower. Breakfast choice was good with friendly staff. Had three evening meals here, good choices and well cooked food. Small village and ideal for our days out to Chillingham Castle, St Cuthberts cave, Bamburgh, Seahouses and the Farne Islands, Berwick upon Tweed and Ford and Etal. All in all a lovely break.
Fabulous host!
Just spent a few days at The White Swan Inn after considering a lot of similar places, having to cancel due to the onset of Covid and then getting our very first escape this year... and we were not disappointed. It's a very homely place and the hosts are very accommodating - nothing is too much trouble. It's true, the decor is a bit dated but that doesn't matter when it's clean and tidy, and the beds were very comfortable - at a very fair price too. We will be back :-)
Homely
Looks like it's stuck in a time warp, but can't fault the food, service and atmosphere. Basic menu but excellent quality, staff went the extra mile to meet requirements. The locals very friendly and overall a very pleasant experience. Definitely would recommend a visit.
Another fantastic stay
This was our third trip here and we thought it might have been quiet due to the COVID pandemic, the pub and the restaurant are closed, but the B&B was full and the busiest we’ve seen it. As per our last visits we found the room really clean and it was very pleasant. The only down side to the room was the bed, the mattress seemed to be on its way out. You don’t mind this for just a weekend though. The breakfast quality was really good and tasted really fresh, I assume the bacon and sausage was locally sourced but it was delicious. With the pub being closed we were unable to get drinks for our room but we did have access to tea and coffee so not big issue really. Another good stay for us.
Lovely, cosy place with exceptional host
My partner and I enjoyed a two night stay at the White Swan Inn to get away in August 2020 and visit Bamburgh Castle, Holy Isand and the Farne Islands. It's in a great location (for driving to other places). Our host, Duncan, was super friendly and couldn't do enough for us, including ringing and checking our evening meal reservations for us when we were confused about which pub we had booked, and giving us a lift into Berwick to save us the taxi fare! The room was lovely and clean. Breakfast was freshly cooked and absolutely delicious, veggie options available. Couple of minor problems but nothing that was a huge issue! There was no dressing table or desk in our room to sit at to get ready, which would have been preferred for me putting my make up on. Then just unfortunately that our room was on the ground floor so we could hear the people above us moving about, but this was only really in the morning when we were just about to get up anyway. Thank you for an amazing stay!
