Disappointed
There are two good things about this hotel - it's a good location and it's clean. Everything else was a joke. The staff are miserable and slow, the heating was broken, the bedroom had no light, we booked a double room and was given a twin, the discount for car parking didn't work so I had to pay £18.50 which is a complete rip off. Where I usually park in Nottingham only costs £8 a day. It's okay if you're with the lads on a stag do or whatever but don't bring your Mrs here. It's depressing.
Clean but dated
Close to city centre, the hotel was clean but very tired and dated very shabby in places have stayed in much better places for the same price. Thought the photographs on the web site were a little mis-leading.
Fire Trap - Avoid!
We are currently staying in this hotel having had two fire alarms with known fire risks in two bedrooms. There is no night-time duty manager. The fire brigade have told us they were not aware of an incident which seems to suggest that this hotel is not linked to the fire brigade. The two night staff on duty have NO IDEA about evacuation policy ... telling guests to return to rooms when they have not even located the source of the alarm. We are scared, will not sleep and will Never come back to this hotel. We are now staring at a flashing fire sensor that blinks ever 2@ seconds because no one knows how to reset.
Shuttersleep
Nice hotel, larger than expected. Pleasant staff and cosy rooms. Extras in the rooms are in photos. No curtains this time, but 2 layers of shutters to close off the sound and light! Restaurant was cold as they kept opening the back door. Food very nice and in photo's. Didn't explore other areas of hotel, but it was about 11 floors.
Smelly and dirty
Whole place needed ripping out and modernising. Walls had brown stains on. Feel like I need to shower as soon as I get home. Good central location. Constant smell of cigarette smoke. Whole place is just dingy and shabby. Wouldn’t recommend. Could get a premier inn for the same price!
