East Bridgford Hill

What a disappointment! When you have paid in full for your hotel you expecting to be open when you arrive! We called multiple times to get voice mail with NO explanation as to the situation. On arrival we stood in the pouring rain ringing the bell. How can any establishment just close up and not refund the guests booked to stay with them?

Arrived today and rang bell, tried calling the number to no avail. Went to local pub "Royal oak" where the owner was incredibly helpful in assisting with trying to find alternate accomodation after informing us he beleived it had closed. Unlike the previous reviews we received NO email from the hotel to cancel. This was incredibly dissapointing and ruined our trip to the UK as this was meant to be our last night before returning home. A serious sour taste has been left. Many thanks to the Royal Oak for their hospitality. #royaloak

We attempted to contact the Hill Club to notify them of our arrival that was within check in time, but after several attempts and messages left, were unable to get through to a person. We were not called back either. We decided to look at other reviews and saw that others had been let down just as we were! Owner claims that emails were sent out a week ago to notify of an unforseen closure, but we received no such contact. Additionally, we found another hotel, that we warned about other potential custom due to this 'closure' and were later notified that the owner had contacted them looking for a room for a single male guest (We were 2 women), so it wasn't even to help us after she let us down. I would not recommend. Very unprofessional. Don't book! Your room may be cancelled without notice!

Unfortunately we arrived at the hotel to find it closed and no one there! We called the number and the owner said she had emailed us to cancel the booking! It was only made approx 10 days previous. No email was found, not even in our junk mail! It would of been far more professional to personally call us!! She said she was driving and would call in 20 minutes to assist us with other places nearby(we had travelled 3 hours with our dog) she never called back!! We asked a dog walker if they knew of somewhere else that was dog friendly. He said the owner was very 'Flaky'. We found somewhere else at short notice approx 5 miles away and thank goodness we did, it was spot on and was dog friendly.

My family are so disappointed that our booking has been cancelled by the hotel 2 weeks before the wedding. No explanation or apologies and not even the decency to return my calls. Such disgraceful & unprofessional behaviour.
