Affordable Accommodation
This is usually one of the cheaper hotels to book in the Detroit area for a chain with a kitchen suite. I’ve been travelling to Detroit 1-2x a month for the past 18 months and have stayed in almost all the extended stays close by. This one is average, seems to be having some staffing issues as well. The rooms are not always well cleaned but they are acceptable if you don’t mind spending the first 10-15 with some Lysol wipes and a cloth. I’ve started to bring my own items for the kitchen because of my Excessive travel. Any issue I have had with the hotel has been rectified by the on site employee or after our stay via the management. It’s in a safe area, the hotel is close to restaurants and Walmart/target I will return but always come prepared.
2 day stay-
Came late for check in like 2330hours which was late. The door was locked which is fine it says to call after hours to get inside. No one picking up the phone for about 15 min. Had to knock for another 5 min until someone came and heard me. Then I thought like any other hotel we would have housekeeping. But no we came back to our used towels and our bed not made. Realized In the check in card it says they will do it “for a small fee” and if you want towels you get it yourself at the front desk. The room itself was obviously an older like room but clean. They have a grab and go breakfast with coffee and muffin or granola bar and oatmeal. You get what you paid for. I mean I did t mind it for the price but I wish we had fresh towels even if they didn’t make the bed
Dirtiest room i have ever stayed in
Checked in on the 8th late at night. Room smelled so bad could barely sleep. Next morning. Found hair in shower, stale grease dripping from cooking hood. Checked out the next on a 4 day reservation. they are unwilling to give refund. Even my wool coat still smells like grease. Taking to drycleaners disgusting place
definitely not a friendly place to stay
i was staying here for a week or 2 to find out i was getting kicked out with no where to go because of the employees flaws definitely not suggesting thing place to anyone the staff were friendly but the managers need to find a new resolution to solving peoples problems.
Extended Stay
I have had a wonderful experience here at the novi extended stay. Marcia is wonderful always making sure that we have everything not to mention she is absolutely fabulous to my 3 year old. Anything that has been wrong has been promptly fixed or the situation rectified. I would recommend this hotel for anyone that is looking for comfortable sleeping conditions on a budget
