Paradise in the LGD
We loved our stay at the Green House Inn and our pups did too! NOLA is such a dog friendly dog town and we wanted to stay a place that not only allowed dogs, but welcomes them. 1) The location! The Inn couldn’t be in a better location. Walking distance to Quarter, all the shopping on Magazine, and Coliseum Park. 2)The staff at the Green House Inn were amazing. From Christine handling the reservations, Jesse & Kipling giving great guidance on where go, and Charles & Mia on solid eats! 3) The house is built in the 1800’s & has tons of character. The courtyard is a tropical paradise with soothing waterfall from the pool. The pups loved lounging on the chairs while we relaxed in the sun. The hot tub was nice after dinner each evening. We will be back again!
Quirky and old
What can I say, traditional, but in bad need of updating. Stayed in the suite, needed refurbished. Old is fine but it was not that clean. Had a few issues that Charles tried to sort. He was very helpful. Garden and pool are lovely and it is the bright spot of the venue. Well located in the garden district close to amenities.
Great Hotel in a Great Location
Really nice pool and hot tub in the backyard. Walking distance to world war 2 museum, art museums, parks and several restaurants. Jesse, the owner, is an amazing host and a very interesting guy (also happens to know a lot of information about New Orleans and makes great restaurant and tour recommendations). The rooms are spacious, clean, and quiet and the beds are comfortable. There is a parking lot right on the property which was very convenient. I would highly recommend staying here to anyone visiting New Orleans.
Could be cleaner!!!!!!!
First the good: Christine was wonderful. Super nice. The jacuzzi was nice a well. The bad:Although it's built in the 1840's and that is a part of the charm, the hotel lacks proper cleanliness. The royal suite needs cleaning. There were cobwebs on the ceiling, a leaky tub that constantly ran water and caused a slight moldy smell, dirty baseboards with a dead spider and even the walls had dirt spots. For about 700 bucks for three nights this was a disappointment. Fish pond was dirty and had trash in it. Though the room was really nice size with some great furniture and features, the cleanliness left me unsettled and had the shower not been nice, I would have cringed every time I went to the bathroom.
Heavenly Weekend Yet Again
This marks our second trip to GHI within as many weeks and our third time overall. These last two trips were solely to stay The Green House! The pool and garden area makes one feel as though you are removed from the hustle of New Orleans allowing you to live the GHI motto...Stay. Relax. Just be. The clothing optional pool allows a state of decompression to enjoy time and meet incredible people from across the country. Jesse, Christine and Charles are more than willing to go the extra mile to make your stay as pleasant as possible, as well as make you feel as part of the family. We’ve stayed in the Royal Ponciana Suite and the Bird of Paradise rooms and each have a special place in our hearts. Our routine involved grabbing some coffee from French Truck Coffee right next door, indulging in a killer burger and lobster po’boy from Fat Boy Pantry for lunch then grab a cocktail to go from across the street at Barrel Proof, all with pool time in between. Thank you Jesse, Christine and Charles for hosting us and providing such a unique experience. Looking forward to being back soon! C&M
