Worth going out of your way to stay here
We stayed here twice during our time in Germany. The main dining room was closed but the staff made sure there was breakfast for guests staying there. The staff could not have been nicer. We felt very safe. It is very convenient to all the shops across the street and station. The rooms were very comfortable . The bathrooms a good size. We can't see how anyone could give a bad review when the staff is trying so hard to deal with new regulations for covid daily....
A nice hotel centrally located
When I think about this hotel, an extremely friendly overall staff comes to mind. Congratulations. I got an upgrade to a larger room, nicely decorated, but the shower as part of the bath tub is very basic. I would have preferred a real shower. I personally might be a bit tricky about pillows. My advice is to bring it up to Marriott standards ( they are great no matter where you are’ The hotel is well located to explore the medieval city. The decor is a bit somber, but that’s a question of personal taste.
One night on the way back home
On our way back home to Switzerland, from the Baltic See 2 weeks vacation, we decided to stay in Nüremberg/ Germany for a night. We found the Le Meridien Grand Hotel. Super located, with lot of tradition and history hotel, offered very good rooms, even with Covid-19 situation. We stayed in a Junior Suite. Good view, fabulous, big and comfortable bed (California King Size), nice designed etc. Close to walk around and good quality. Front desk persons are extremely helpful and friendly. It’s a hotel to stay even longer.
excellent stay- great price /quality
I just stayed two nights there with my friend. I saw two very exaggerated negative reviews about the hotel. seems to me very angry people without cause. I stay 150 nights a year in hotels worldwide and I am often critical when needed. But I just dislike when reviews are obviously false!!!! Frankly I just had a great stay at the meridien at an exceptional summer price. It is not the ritz carlton but amazing value for price. 1. The lobby and rooms are lovely. Old style elegant building which is completely renovated but maintains old world charm. 2. The staff I dealt with were all great and extremely helpful;. Staff at reception and waiters in breakfast area and cleaning staff all want to please. 3. Breakfast was very good. Nonsense whoever wrote that tthey didnt try hard.: I had lovely omelettes and fresh fruit salad. great coffee. Pretty good during covid :) 4. As a Marriott elite they treated me exceptionally well and recognized the status. 5. the air conditioning functioned fine. So did the wifi. It is a lie that they do not work!!! I am staying at another marriott branded hotel now in munich and there is a serious wifi problem and i will note it in my review whihc will be negative but certainly not at the meridien in Nuremberg. 6. i like the Meridien beds. they may be a bit harder than others but great for your back. super sleep for myself and my friend. I will definitely return and and i reccomended it to my colleagues in business consulting who are also very picky so I am sure about it.
OK enough
The Nürnberg Meridien has a great location, close to the historic heart of the surprisingly beautiful old city. The lobby is old-fashioned 80’s chique, not up to date at all. But the rooms are much better outfitted. We had a twin superior room which looked fine. The beds unfortunately were uncomfortably hard, which was unpleasant. The hotel did a good job in providing a Corona-proof breakfast.
