We planned a family trip for the first time in Oaxaca and looked at all the reviews before booking Night one There was a convention of teenagers and where running all over the place super loud till 3 am We talked to the hotel security and receptionist to explained the situation and nothing was done 6 am they were loud and obviously wake us up Second night ! Same thing Super loud had a party and did not care about the other guest obviously the hotel didn’t ether We complained again and nothing happened I’m sure they could have someone telling the kids to please keep it down and when leaving at 6 am every day someone should have told them to please walk without screaming The hotel people did nothing to ensure their guest were also enjoying their stayed , really bad problem solving The beds were super hard and full size and the shower wasn’t working property Look for more options This hotel is far from the town and right on the street is loud ! If you want to rest at night after a whole day of sight seen this is not a good place We moved to another hotel Mission San Angel ! Way better almost same price and queen beds. Look for other options before you get foil in this one

This beautiful hotel is absolutely real and beautiful part of the magic place Oaxaca! We choose this place to spend our 4 days stay in Oaxaca incl. our New Years Eve. We had a nice time there. The staff was really kind, and all the antic interior staffs sent me to the beginning of the Century. I recommend this place.

Nice accommodation

We stay here only one night, with late arrival and early departure... Very nice main building with equipment from 1950-ties, many "angels" watching you from every corner. Breakfeast very good - not only fruits and eggs, but also some cold-cuts and salats were served. Very nice stuff. The only thing for minus was air conditioniong - AC units in rooms seems very old and were very noisly... There was problem with toilet in one room occupied by us, and due to late night - we were moved to another one.

Hotel Angel Inn, Oaxaca

Reviewed 12 february, 2014

I spent 3 wonderful days visiting Oaxaca this week and stayed at the beautiful Hotel Angel Inn located in the the quiet San Felipe de Agua neighborhood. It is about a 15 min. and a 6 peso bus ride to the Zocolo. The rooms were spacious with large bathrooms and the shower had handicapped bars.Organic soaps shampoos, conditioners and also a hair dryer . Wifi and cable TV, A/C and secure parking if needed. The grounds and garden are beautiful and tranquil. I had breakfast, lunch and diner in the second floor restaurant and all meals were terrific, Beautiful piano bar & paintings and antiques are everywhere but the best thing was a wonderful staff, from the gardener to the lovely owner Terisa I was made to feel like family, I hated to leave.

Far away from the city... can be a real inconvenience

Reviewed 21 november, 2009

We had a reservation elsewhere, that didn't go through, and we only found out about it about a week before we were supposed to arrive. It was the first days of November, so the city was full of tourists, and we started a panicky search for another hotel. From the pictures we saw this was a quirky, little hotel. The truth was that it looked much better in pictures than in reality. The price was high for the basic room we got. The beds were very hard, and we had trouble sleeping in them for the three days of our stay. The bathroom was nice and clean, with good water pressure. The hotel has a decent bar and a good restaurant. Although it is a bit pricey, at some point you do not have a choice, because the location is not close to a lot of restaurants. It is true that the bus stops almost right in front of the hotel and in less than 10 minutes you can be in the city centre, for very cheap, but going back to the hotel can be a bit of a hassle, especially after 9 when buses stop running. Taxis are not that expensive, but we felt it was not really worth it. If you are driving, this is definitely not a problem. All in all, I think we would have found a hotel in the same price range closer to the city centre. The staff was helpful, but the dealbreaker is the distance to the city centre, unless you are looking for relaxation away from the busy city centre.
