My husband and I spent five nights in a junior suite on the second floor this last week. The property is immaculate, well-maintained and secure. It's tastefully decorated and our room was ready when we arrived, even though we were a bit early. COVID precautions were in full evidence; as in nearly all locations we visited, we were asked to use hand sanitizer, to step into a solution to clean the soles of our shoes, and as I recall temperatures were taken as well. Hotel staff arranged for an on-site antigen test for us two days before departure for ~$65/pp and results were returned the same day. Additionally, the hotel arranged laundry service for us and had our items delivered at an exceptional price. In keeping with our custom, we tipped housekeeping daily as well as all other staff services. We were graciously served cocktails poolside and enjoyed a nice breakfast one day in the restaurant as well. The pool area is a tranquil, beautifully-landscaped oasis (as is, frankly, the whole property) and we whiled away many happy hours enjoying the birds and lizards. The hotel is half a block from the Zocalo and a block and a half from the south end of the Andador. The markets are an easy stroll away, as are several other interesting places. But most of all, I want to call out the service of Rosa. She was kind, thoughtful and attentive and spent probably more time than she should have chatting with us. Truly, she made our entire stay worthwhile. When we travel, I rarely get to really CONNECT with the people I meet, and Rosa is someone I'd like to think I'd be friends with under different circumstances. Management at De La Parra must take note of Rosa's care and concern...she is a treasure whose work I appreciated immensely. When we return to Oaxaca, I assure you we'll be spending it at De La Parra.
Love it, great location super clean and modern

Great hotel, pool is awesome, clean and in the center of everything! Good price and the staff is super helpful with getting a cab, or booking appointment with the covid testing center. Would stay again!
Not the best hotel to go.

We visited Oaxaca for New Year’s Eve and stayed in Hotel de la Parra for 5 nights. The room that they gave us was not prepared. The bathroom wasn’t working, it didn’t have a safe box even when we emailed the hotel 2 weeks before asking for that. There were no toiletries in the room. The employees were trying to fix all this while we where there tired of our trip and wanting to rest. It would have been easier to get another room instead of having to be there watching them working on the bathroom and drilling in the closet to install a safety box. The shampoo and conditioner that they provide were very poor quality. During check out, they wanted to charge $400 pesos per night for using the couch as an extra bed even when they knew that we were a group of 4 in the room (2 adults + 2 kids). This is as senseless as trying to charge extra for using the chair in the desk... which is already part of the room’s furniture. There is no restaurant service out of the 7:00 am to 2:00 pm window, so if you want to get a sandwich in your room, you need to take the time (and the chance) to find some restaurant that delivers good quality food. You can tell, the employees are nice and trying to help but it seems more of a problem with the Hotel Administration. We loved Oaxaca, it was really a super nice trip, very nice and working people and we will come back for sure but certainly to another hotel.
Great location, friendly staff

We spent 10 nights there, and found the staff extremely friendly and helpful. The incredibly inexpensive continental breakfast became a morning ritual, and the room was tidied to perfection every afternoon. The staff helped organize two day trips to nearby sights, and gave good advice on where to find local amenities. Despite being so close to the busy zocalo, the rooms and central courtyard (and pool) were quiet and the whole place was impeccably clean. Hotel de la Parra would be my first choice if I were to return to Oaxaca City.
3 nights at perfect location

We have stayed with 3 kids in a junior suite. Very friendly staff help us to park car (as there is no parking at hotel) and get us settled in. Room was comfortable, only airco was somewhat loud. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is located next to the Zocalo and everything is in walking distance. Why not 5 stars: there was hardly any serving at the hotel, expect during breakfast. But I would certainly recommend it for a city trip to Oaxaca.
