This hotel has some of the best staff I have had the ability to interact with in any hotel in a very long time. From the front desk staff to housekeeping they get a five. But Boy has the place been let go. Search filthy carpet in our room that we spilled a little bit of wine on the floor cleaned it up with a towel and a towel turned brown with the dirt. I wear white socks in the room and they were Brown by the time I took them off. Furniture outdated, dented and missing pieces. Table and chairs look like conference center chairs with the very old wooden table to seat two. We enjoyed the deck but the plastic furniture was very unsteady to sit on. The view was absolutely five star. No housekeeping service and they were only allowed to put two bath towels in room per rental ( mind you we had two queen beds). One LG TV in the bedroom in the living room had a very thick 20-year-old TV. The rooms needed paint and the holes in the walls patched. Spend the evening in the pool and the Jacuzzi, which was great except for both were dirty and needed a good cleaning. Restaurant not open, room service not open, bar not open. Staff work very hard to make our visit Pleasant. I don’t fault them. It’s the owners of cut every corner possible to make the highest level of profit. Honestly I would stay at another place in town next time such as a gray gull or the Polynesian.

Disaster and annoying

Had to get 3 keys to enter room as each time it did not work. Glad on rug and balcony supposedly vacuumed after I said something came back to room glass still there. No charging ports for phones. Door knob to the balcony came off in my hand and they said they would fix it the next day. Luckily I was on the 3 rd floor. I will not stay at the Shilo again. No restaurant opened. I could go on and on

I booked a King jacuzzi room for this weekend. It advertised a fireplace in the bedroom. I called down to the desk to ask how to make the fireplace work and I was told it was just for looks. That is ridiculous! Also the blow dryer in the bathroom sparked and burned my hand. I called the front desk and the employee wasn't concerned at all. I tried to turn the heat on this morning and the thermostat came off in my hand. The room is generally run down and in need of a good cleaning. I'm really disappointed since I paid almost $300 for one night. It's too bad because it's a great location with a nice view.

The room we stayed in was very dirty. Thick dust, bad coffee maker, deck felt like it will drop. There is molding and mildew around deck and on top. The cord to close blinds on door was too long and we could easily trip. The gas fire place had only one side on left burning not right and it hardly got warm.

Avoid Like The Plague

Problems with this establishment before we even arrived. We thought we wouldn't pay until after we arrived. Found out that they take first night payment out the night before you get there. I had also sent them a msg letting them know we would be bringing our two small dogs. At first, the clerk claimed they never got a msg and that all of the dog friendly rooms were taken. Later on, she admitted that I did send msg, but it wasn't forwarded by the website I booked with (I've never had a problem with other establishments not receiving msgs from me). The room was nice and we had a view (dog friendly rooms have no view). The property was outdated and the tv remote didn't work for sound. Not too many channels and wasn't too keen on seeing porn chat ads. Difficult to open door going out to balcony. The bathtub didn't work and the knob for the shower was broken (found this out the next day and they couldn't get anyone up to fix it until possible that afternoon). First night we were there, hubby thought it would be nice to stay an extra night. Didn't find out until later that he was charged for an additional 3 nights! WTH???? That, as well as the shower problems, were enough and we checked out on Sunday. Sorry to say, I would never recommend this establishment.
