We discovered the Sherman Inn when we were planning our visit to the Remington Museum. Are we glad we did! We were trying to stay in unique places during our road trip vacation and the Sherman Inn checked all of the boxes. It was definitely a one-of-a kind experience for us getting to stay in an old elementary school. The rooms are large, cozy and decorated perfectly. It’s cool how they incorporated bits of the old classrooms into the décor. Breakfast was fabulous. We can’t say enough about our hosts, Donna & Jim. They were accommodating and provided us with a ton of information about the area. Jim even gave us a tour of the school/B & B. If you are a history buff, be sure to pick up Jim’s books which are available at the B & B, Remington Museum or Amazon.

Welcoming, Eclectic and Relaxing

Jim and Donna are wonderful hosts and create welcoming and relaxing environment for singles, couples and families. We have stayed at many B&B, Inns and hotels and Sherman is so unique among its peers. It offers a once in a lifetime experience. The rooms are spacious and quite. The common eating, reading and play (old school gym) areas have their own treasures to experience. Don't miss staying here. We will remember this place fondly. John & Maureen Murphy

Outstanding in every respect

Super interesting place - giant room, the size of a former classroom! Very well appointed. Hosts are super nice without being invasive. Breakfast is outstanding. Can't say enough. Also: stayed with my senior father, and he notes that little touches, like bath surface, are very well designed for seniors.

Unique stay beautifully decorated for Christmas

Such a wonderful and unique experience! Jim and Donna are wonderful! We arrived late due to bad weather and they accommodated a late check in. They even made time for a little tour of the converted elementary school and the rooms that are named after presidents that have visited Ogdensburg. We had a flight out of the airport (3 mins away) in the morning so Jim and Donna arranged to have breakfast prepared a little bit earlier for us. The home made breakfast and homemade muffins was delicious! Overall very spacious rooms, very quiet and clean and excellent for families. I would highly recommend and I look forward to our next stay!

Wow, we had an amazing stay at the Sherman Inn! This inn is an old school that has been renovated into a 5 bedroom B&B. Each room is themed after a President, I was in the Roosevelt room. Beautiful views from the 6 windows. The room was enormous and contained a couch, table, chairs and a fridge. The beds were insanely comfy. Lots of hot water. The hosts were very accommodating and made us feel very welcome. The home made breakfast was a treat. I highly recommend and will definitely stay there again.
