Nice hotel, but overrun with a youth baseball tournament

This is a fine motel with comfortable rooms with amenities. It has a nice pool and hot tub, a large lobby and breakfast room and serves a good buffet breakfast with a few hot items including sausage and eggs. Unfortunately, it was overrun with unaccompanied minors. They were wrestling in the halls, playing baseball in the parking lot, and playing in the pool and hot tub. The adults were off drinking and partying on their own. The lone desk attendant was doing all she could. She even threw some out of the pool. I saw a teen do a full flip into the pool in only 4 feet of water. The pool is 3 feet to 4 and 1/2 feet deep. This was an inherently dangerous act and a very bad example to the others. My much sought after trip to the hot tub was ruined by the chaos.

I have been trying for 2 weeks to talk with the manager. Everytime I call she is gone or "working at home". I've been told if I want to talk with her I am supposed to send her an email. I ask when she will be in the office and it's usually an I don't know. The one time I got an answer she was to be working to front desk I call to only get told she decided to take the day off, not sure why since she is never there. This hotel isn't interested in the customer. I will be taking my business somewhere else while in the Brookings area.

OK stay but.....

Stay was for just one night. The property itself is nice. Decent size room. We had a king bed that slept well. The only two things I didn't like was after I booked the hotel by calling the hotel directly. I was quoted a price much higher than they were advertising online. When I told the gentleman the price was too high and would look around his price was starting to come down. I didn't realize I was in Mexico and need to deal o everything. I reluctantly booked. A few days later, I learned other people staying at the same place had gotten much cheaper rates. When I arrive to check in. I said I wanted to see a manager. When showed up. I began to tell him that I should have to deal for a price. I told him what others were getting their room for and low and behold. We got the same rate. The second down grade was the so called full breakfast. It is not. It is just a glorified continental breakfast and when we showed up at 7 am. the hot food was gone and no one around to replenish. Waffle maker was a mess. My suggestion is. Don't settle on the price they advertise and don't expect a full breakfast. We probably would not stay again.

Great hotel, booked what I thought was a hotel in Watertown, however it was this one. Good mistake to make. Very nice, clean comfy and easy checkin. Exercise room is open to one guest at a time. Not many guests last night. Requested a room on the 3rd floor over the parking lot due to remote starting my truck in the super cold weather. Comfy bed, lots of pillows, nice sofa and ottoman. Big bathroom with a walkin shower. Nice fluffy towels. The shower and toilet paper fixtures were a bit loose, but they worked. Treadmill was easy to operate. Coffee maker in the room along with a microwave and refrig. Lots of channels on the TV their printed guide was very small in the hotel binder. Breakfast was your typical COVID breakfast, cereal, apples, yogurt, NO hot breakfast. Their egg sandwich looked like one of the egg sandwiches you get at a cheap gas station. Lots of stores nearby, Walmart, Runnings, etc. plenty of fast food near by as well. I would recommend this hotel and will stay here again when passing through.

This is a new property, so is clean and well-maintained. Front desk staff and housekeeping were very nice and they allow pets. If you've never stayed at a Comfort Suites before, be aware that they are still just 1 room with a short dividing wall. Unfortunately, like a lot of newer properties that are trying to make more money, the rooms at this one are smaller than they used to be, and the walls are much thinner. Once housekeeping begins working, or the family in the next room gets up, you're awake too. The space to actually move around the room is uncomfortably minimal, even if you don't have a lot of large luggage (which we did). Worst of all, the bed and pillows weren't that great. It had a large shower with plenty of hot water and average water pressure. However, it was clean, the A/C was wonderful. We probably won't stay here again though.
