Greatest Place to Stay
Having read the reviews and seeing all the 5 stars, I was quite certain this place would be awesome and I was pleasantly surprised to see this in reality. I loved this place. Gaston is such a great person and makes you feel so very welcome. Can't say enough about his hospitality. We miss him, his dog Griffin and even the cat Lex. The place is like coming home everyday. My wife and I extended twice here as we couldn't get enough of this warm, friendly environment. They make great breakfasts. We were given a cooler to use, beach chairs, snorkel equipment and beach towels so going to the many beaches was easy. Our first trip to Aruba and when we come again, we are staying at Wonders. We are back in Upstate New York missing this great place.
Paradise on Earth!
Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Wonders. Gaston and his staff and phenomenally hospitable and always to the extra mile to ensure satisfaction. I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed having a suite for myself. The facilities were very clean and the room was refreshed each day when I was out. The pool was a nice treat too! Breakfast was amazing - they have plenty of options, but If you make a special request they will do their best to make it happen. I was able to borrow some beach equipment for use (such a plus!). The car park was secure as well as the facility in its entirety. I was really sad to leave!!
Best kept secret in Aruba
I arrived at Wonders and really couldn't believe my good fortune. What a charming a beautiful place! The decor was so comforting and my room amazing. After settling in, I grabbed a towel and went to enjoy the pool. Just perfect! The palm trees and exotic plants made for the most relaxing afternoon I've had in years. Now the best part; the people. The staff were so warm and friendly. They had great equipment for the beach and sea from chairs to snorkeling gear, but only after offering you an amazing choice of breakfasts colored with a twinge of their Dutch heritage. My best part of the day was being getted by Connie asking me what I wanted to eat. You really must try the Dutch pancakes covered in whipped cream and Dutch syrup. The place is so cozy and warm from the time yo wake up to the time you get your incredible night's sleep. With only 11 rooms at Wonders, you feel like you are in the beautiful home of a close friend. Some of the guests and I get together to rent a car to visit the national park. Finally, one day I went to see the resorts and visited 5 of them. Yes they are elegant and fancy, but I wouldn't have stayed there if a room was offered for free. Wonders was delightful. Located in a residential neighborhood gives you a real feel for Aruba, not the touristy view.I was even woken up each morning by a rooster who I already miss :). Big recommendation!
Anniversary trip
We have never stayed in a boutique hotel before. We usually stay at Hilton properties, my husband works for them. We decided to try something different and are we glad we did. My only regret is not staying here longer. From the moment we booked, Gaston has been amazing. When we arrived we had a private gate to enter with security. Once in the gate, a small peice of heaven awaited. The courtyard was clean, nicely decorated and so welcoming with beautiful palm trees and nature all around. Once we entered the lobby we were greeted by a dog who guards the property, Griffin a rescue. He even slet at the front door all night keeping us safe. Our room was on the 2nd floor( only 11 rooms). We opened the door to this private hideaway. Nice bathroom with double sinks and stand up shower. Beautiful decor and comfortable bed. My husband and I had a favorite spot, our balcony. This over looked the back courtyard area that had a pool. We had dinner out there and spent most of our morning there too. The pool was amazing! Love the night color( green). There were soft drinks, beer, wine and snack available. The courtyard out back was also where we had breakfast. Homemade omelets, juice, fruit, breads, coffee and jams. What a great way to end our stay. Again only regret, not staying here longer. Thank you for letting us stay at your home, that is how we have felt being here and will be back. Jeff & Kate Lichliter( Griffin).
Go see Gaston!
We were so excited to get to stay in this hotel after a 7-month pause in our plans because of Covid. Gaston was so wonderful to work with in rescheduling our stay. The hotel is so warm and welcoming it feels more like home. Gaston has beach bags, chairs, snorkel equipment, sunscreen, bug spray, towels, and will even give you a ride to the beach. The room was nice sized with a mini-fridge and coffee maker and hot water maker. The room was cleaned daily. The bed was so comfortable, the A/C was cold and the shower was hot! It is so nice that each room at this hotel has its own private patio. We also partook of the house-made breakfast nearly every day of our stay. Gaston is so gracious and we really enjoyed talking with him and learning all about Aruba. When you go please give Griffin (the dog) a pat from us!
